HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-07-1975 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, JULY 7, 1975 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular 2 session July 7, 1975 at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers 3 in the Municipal Building in said City serving as a committee in charge 4 of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant. Mr. Merchanthouse 5 presided with the following members present: Messr. Cornett, Elstro, 6 Hilton, Marino, Mills and Williams. Absent. Messrs. Brown and Geier. 7 The following business was had to-wit: 8 9 Mr. Williams moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, 10 seconded by Mr. Mills and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 11 12 Mr. Cornett moved to approve the following bills, seconded by Mr. Elstro 13 and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 14 15 APPROVE THE FOLLOWING: 16 Bills in the amount of $ 335,344.69 17 Interest Coupons 118,417.50 18 1 Payroll 67,374.08 19 20 INVESTMENTS PURCHASED 21 Cash Reserve Fund $ 180,000.00 22 23 C.D. 's Maturing 12/30/75, 24 yielding 6% Interest. 25 26 Mr. Marino requested a street light in .a double alley to the east 27 end on the "E" Street side between S.W. 3rd and 4th and "D" and "E". 28 29 Mr. Williams requested two street lights on existing poles on Camp- 30 bell Avenue. 11/ 31 32 Irving Huffman, General Manager, said the progress report on the 33 Richmond Powbr and Light 15 per cent rate increase is pending. The 34 Commission has advised us everthing is in order and we are looking 35 forward to being awarded this. 36 37 Mr. Huffman gave an updated report on Indiana & Michigan Electric 38 Company's petition before the Federal Power Commission to raise the 39 local utility's rate 27.52 per cent for power purchased. 40 41 The PSC demand clause should not top 60 per cent, whereas it was 100 . 42 per cent, this will save RP&L $200,000 yearly, Mr. Huffman said. 43 44 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed, 45 the meeting was adjourned. 46 47 Greg Merchanthouse 48 Acting Chairman 49 50 51 ATTEST: Margaret Mellen 52 City Clerk
