HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-03-1975 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, FEBRUARY 3, 1975 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular 2 session February 3, 1975 at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Council 3 Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City serving as a committee 4 in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant. Mr. 5 Brown presided with the following members present: Messrs. Cornett, III 6 Elstro, Geier, Hilton, Marino, Merchanthouse, Mills and Williams. 7 Absent: None. The following business was had to-wit: 8 9 Mr. Geier moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, 10 seconded by Mr. Mills and on unanimous voice vote the motion was 11 carried. 12 13 Mr. Hilton moved to approve the following bills , seconded by Mr. Els- 14 tro and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 15 16 APPROVE THE FOLLOWING: 17 Bills in the amount of $307,768.65 18 Interest Coupons 39,450.75 19 1 Payroll 68,204.00 20 21 INVESTMENTS PURCHASED 22 *Consumers Deposit Fund $ 31 ,534.43 23 *Utility Bond Reserve Fund 146,465.57 24 **Utility Bond Reserve Fund 138,701 .23 25 26 *C.D. 's Maturing 1/20/76, yielding 7 1/4% 27 **C.D. Maturing 1/26/76, yielding 6 3/4% 28 29 Mr. Geier moved to award bid for line Supt. car to Kurdys Brookbank 30 Chev. in the amount of $3,405.82 as recommended by General Manager, 31 Irving Huffman, seconded by Mr. Williams and on voice vote the motion 32 was carried. Mr. Cornett voted no. 33 34 Mr. Marino voted to accept and file proof of publication to receive 35 bids for a car, seconded by Mr. Geier and on unanimous voice vote 36 the motion was carried. 37 38 Bids were received from the following: Fred First Ford in the amount 39 of $3,425.29, Raper Sales in the amount of $3,865.00 and Kurdys 40 Brookbank Chev. in the amount of $3,703.32. 41 42 Mr. Merchanthouse moved to take bids under advisement, seconded by 43 Mr. Marino and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 44 45 Irving Huffman, General Manager, reported that we asked to be an 46 intervenor at Indiana & Michigan's rate case because we didn 't want 47 the situation toihappen to us like before. "We are looking out for 48 our interests," he said. 49 50 Mr. Brown, Chairman of the Board, set an executive meeting for 51 February 10, 1975 at 7:00 p.m. at the Richmond Power and Light Plant. 52 53 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and 54 passed, the meeting was adjourned.
