HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-05-1975 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, JANUARY 6, 1975 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular 2 session January 6, 1975, at the hour of 7:00 P.M. in the Council 3 Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City serving as a committee 4 in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant. Mr. 5 Merchanthouse presided with the following members present: Messrs. 6 Brown, Cornett, Elstro, Geier, Hilton, Marino, Mills , and Williams. 7 Absent: None. The following business was had to-wit: 8 9 Mr. Williams moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, 10 seconded by Mr. Hilton and on unanimous voice vote the motion was 11 carried. 12 13 Mr. Williams moved to approve the following bills , seconded by Mr. Brown 14 and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 15 16 APPROVE THE FOLLOWING: 17 Bills in the amount of $ 576,172.14 18 Interest Coupons 162,230.00 19 1 Payroll 67,186.27 20 Payment to Civil City 720,000.00 21 22 INVESTMENTS PURCHASED 23 Utility Bond Reserve Fund $ 45,000.00 24 Consumers Deposit Fund 66,000.00 25 Cash Reserve Fund 125,000.00 26 27 C.D. 's Maturing 12/16/75, yielding 7.75% 28 29 Irving Huffman, General Manager, reported he attended preliminary hearing III 30 last Friday on the petition of Indiana & Michigan for a 26% rate in- 31 crease. Hearings will be January 27 and March 7 before the Indiana 32 Public Service Commission in Indianapolis. 33 34 Mr. Huffman requested authorization to advertise for bids for a new 35 Line Superintendent Car. 36 37 Mr. Marino moved to authorize Mr. Huffman to advertise for bids for a 38 new Line Superintendent car, seconded •by Mr. Williams and on unanimous 39 voice vote the motion was carried. 40 41 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed, 42 the meeting was adjourned. 43 44 45 Greg Merchanthouse 46 Chairman 47 48 ATTEST: Margaret Mellen 49 City Clerk 50 51
