HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-16-1974 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, DECEMBER 16, 1974 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular 2 session December 16, 1974, at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Council 3 Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City serving as a committee 4 in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant. 5 Mr. Merchanthouse presided with the following members present: Messrs. 6 Brown, Cornett, Elstro, Geier, Hilton, Marino, Mills and Williams. 7 Absent: None. The following business was had to-wit: 8 9 Mr. Mills moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded 10 by Mr. Williams and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 11 12 Mr. Marino moved to approve the following bills, seconded by Mr. Mills 13 and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. 14 15 APPROVE THE FOLLOWING: 16 Bills in the amount of $ 379,365.39 17 Interest Coupons 1 ,811 .88 18 1 Payroll 68,745.84 19 20 TRANSFERS FROM CASH OPERATING FUND TO: 21 Depreciation Reserve Fund $ 91 ,000.00 22 Cash Reserve Fund 60,000.00 23 Utility Bond Fund 66,837.49 24 25 Greg Merchanthouse, Chairman of the Board, thanked everyone for their. 26 help and cooperation during the past year. He said he thought it has 27 been a significant year as far as RP&L is concerned. 28 29 Mr. Geier moved at the request of Mr. Huffman to approve giving the 30 employees of Richmond Power & Light a Christmas gift of ten dollars each, 31 seconded by Mr. Brown and on a voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. 32 Elstro voted no. 33 34 Mr. Irving Huffman, General Manager, reported the price of coal will 35 probably increase from $13.00 per ton to $21 .00 per ton at the first 36 of the year, according to work received from representatives of Old 37 Ben Coal Company. 38 39 Mr. Merchanthouse said the Board and representatives of City government 40 and the light plant will meet with computer personnel concerning possi- 41 ble use of the light plant' s equipment for programming city payrolls , 42 planning and police record keeping. 43 • 44 .
