HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-16-1974 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, SEPTEMBER 16, 1974 1 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular 2 session September 16, 1974 at the hour of 7:00 P.M. in the Council 3 Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City serving as a commit- "' tee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant. 5 Mr. Merchanthouse presided with the following members present: 6 Messrs. Elstro, Geier, Marino, Mills and Williams. Absent. Messrs. 7 Brown, Cornett and Shields. The following business was had to-wit: 8 9 Mr. Williams moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, 10 seconded by Mr. Geier and on unanimous voice vote the motion was 11 carried. 12 13 Mr. Williams moved to approve the following bills and transfers, 14 seconded by Mr. Marino and on unanimous voice vote the motion was 15 carried. 16 17 APPROVE THE FOLLOWING: 18 Bills in the amount of $ 491 ,865.64 19 Interest Coupons 3,072.50 20 1 Payroll 68,467.00 21 22 TRANSFERS FROM CASH OPERATING FUND TO: 23 Depreciation Reserve Fund $ 91 ,000.00 24 Cash Reserve Fund 60,000.00 25 Utility Bond Fund 66,837.49 26 27 General Manager Irving Huffman told the Board RP&L has received no 28 word on their petition for a 10 percent rate boost. A public hearing 29 was held September 10, 1974 before the Public Service Commission. 30 31 Mr. Huffman requested permission to intervene in Indiana & Michigan's 32 petition for a 27 1/2 percent rate increase. He stated RP&L does not 33 want to become involved in the study of I&M's case but we also do 34 not want our rates raised without the proper authority. 35 36 Mr. Marino moved to authorize RP&L to intervene in I&M's rate increase 37 case, seconded by Mr. Elstro and on unanimous voice vote the motion 38 was carried. 39 40 There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and 41 passed, the meeting was adjourned. 42 43 44 Greg Merchanthouse 45 Chairman 46 47 ATTEST: Margaret Mellen 48 City Clerk
