A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, AUGUST 19, 1974
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular
session August 19, 1974, at the hour of 7:00 P.M. in the Council
Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City serving as a committee
in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant. Mr.
Merchanthouse presided with the following members present. Messrs.
Brown, Cornett, Geier, Marino, Mills and Williams. Absent. Mr. Elstro
and Dr. Shields. The following business was had to-wit:
Mr. Geier moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded
by Mr. Mills and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
Mr. Marino moved to approve the following bills, seconded by Mr.
Mills and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
APPROVE THE FOLLOWING:
Bills in the amount of $526,868.66
Interest Coupons 76,723.75
1 Payroll 69,803.56 f, ,
TRANSFERS FROM CASH OPERATING FUND TO:
Depreciation Reserve Fund $ 91 ,000.00
Cash Reserve Fund 60,000.00
Utility Bond Fund 66,837.49
Mr. Irving Huffman, General Manager, presented the attached Employees
Recreational Program for the coming year, September 1 , 1974 to
August 31 , 1975.
Mr. Geier moved to approve the Employees Recreational Program as
presented by Mr. Huffman in the amount of $884.00, seconded by Mr.
Marino and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
111 Mr. Huffman reported on the rising cost of coal stating a year ago
coal was $7.06 per ton and freight charges were $3.69 per ton. As
of June of this year coal cost $12.00 per ton and freight is $4.63.
Mr. Brown moved to change the next regular meeting of the Richmond
Power & Light Board to Tuesday, September 3, 1974 at 7:00 P.M.
because of the Labor Day Holiday, seconded by Mr. Marino and on
unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and
passed, the meeting was adjourned.
