HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-15-1974 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE 'OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, JULY 15, 1974 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session July 15, 1974, at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant. Mr. Merchanthouse presided with the following members present: Messrs. Brown, Cornett, Geier, Marino, Mills, Shields, and Williams. Mr. Elstro was absent. Tre following business was had to-wit: Mr. Mills moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded by Mr. Williams and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Geier moved to approve the following bills, seconded by Mr. Cornett and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. APPROVE THE FOLLOWING: Bills in the amount of $ 589,033.89 Interest Coupons 180,773.75 1 Payroll 66,113.11 TRANSFERS FROM CASH OPERATING FUND TO: Depreciation Reserve Fund 91 ,000.00 Cash Reserve Fund 60,000.00 Utility Bond Fund 66,837.50 INVESTMENTS PURCHASED Cash Reserve Fund 59,243.73 U.S. Treasury Notes , Maturing 12/31/74, Yielding 8.5%. Mr. Irving Huffman, General Manager, reported the rate case hearing pending before the Federal Power Commission has been delayed again due to changes on the staff of the Federal Power Commission. Mr. Huffman presented a Resolution approving revised terms and condi- tions and revised schedule of rates for electric utility services and charges to be collected from users of its electric utility system and authorizing the filing of a petition and supplemental emergency petition with the public service commission of the State of Indiana requesting their approval of the proposed schedule of rated and charges. Mr. Marino moved to adopt the Resolution, seconded by Mr. Brown and on a voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Cornett and Mr. Mills voted no. Mr. Huffman said we still are not permitted to sell surplus power to those who need it. It was suggested that the news media in the East be written letters telling of the situation.
