HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-15-1974 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, APRIL 15, 1974 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session April 15, 1974, at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant. Mr. Merchanthouse presided with the following members present: Messrs. Brown, Cornett, Elstro, Geier, Marino, Mills, and Williams. Absent: Dr. Shields. The following business was had to-wit: Mr. Mills moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded by Mr. Geier and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Marino moved to approve the bills, seconded by Mr. Mills and on unani- mous voice vote the motion was carried: APPROVE THE FOLLOWING: Bills in the amount of $ 494,087.48 Interest Coupons 1 ,892.50 1 Payroll 62,214.13 TRANSFER FROM CASH OPERATING FUND TO: Cash Reserve Fund $ 60,000.00 Depreciation Reserve Fund 91 ,000.00 Utility Bond Fund 71 ,254.15 PURCHASE OF INVESTMENTS Cash Reserve Fund $ 61 ,343.69 U.S. Treasury Bills , Maturing 12-17-74 yielding 7.85% interest. Mr. Dean Spencer substituted for Irving Huffman who was attending Indiana and Michigan rate case hearing. Mr. Spencer read the following: TO: IRVING HUFFMAN, GENERAL MANAGER FROM: CAROL SHAVER, PERSONNEL DIRECTOR SUBJECT: NEW TRUCKS The bids opened on April 1 , 1974 have been reviewed by Robert Richardson, Chester Abrams and me. They meet all specifications with the low bidder being Warfield GMC. We would, therefore, like for you to request from the Richmond Common Council at their next meeting on April 15, 1974 for the privilege of purchasing one small dump truck and one 1/2 ton pick- up truck. Mr. Marino moved to award contract to Warfield GMC for one dump truck and one 1/2 ton pick-up truck in the amount of $7 ,294.91 total price, seconded by Mr. Mills and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Merchanthouse,Chairman of the Board of Directors, set a special meet- • ing for April 23, 1974 at 7:00 p.m. There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed, the meeting was adjourned.
