HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-01-1974 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CNARGEOF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, APRIL 1 , 1974 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session April 1 , 1974, at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant. Mr. Merchanthous presided with the following members present: Messrs. Brown, Cornett, Elstro, Geier, Marino, Mills, Shields and Williams. Absent: None. The following busi- ness was had to-wit: Mr. Geier moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting,seconded by Mr. Cornett and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Marino moved to approve the bills, seconded by Mr. Willis and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. APPROVE THE FOLLOWING: Bills in the amount of $ 192,441 .88 Interest Coupons 17,216.25 1 Payroll 65,043.42 PROGRESSIVE PAYMENTS ON: Black & Veatch Resident Engineer $ 2,520.00 Mr. Merchanthouse, Chairman of the Board, called a meeting for the 4th Monday of April at the Richmond Power & Light Plant. Mr. Mills moved to accept and file proof of publication for bids on two trucks, seconded by Mr. Marino and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. General Manager Irving Huffman opened bids on two trucks from the following: Kurdys Chevrolet, Inc. Fred First Ford, Inc. Bob Ross Buick GMC Warfield (Per attached bid evaluation) . Mr. Shields moved to refer the bids to Mr. Huffman for further study and recom- mendation, seconded by Mr. Brown and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Shields moved to authorize Mr. Huffman to award contract for switches to be installed at the new Substation to ITE Imperial in the amount of $20,553.00, seconded by Mr. Mills and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Huffman reported they have received notice from the Railroad that effec- tive April 1 , freight costs will increase. This increase will be put on our fuel clause adjustment which will be about six cent permonth increase for • the average consumer.
