HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-04-1974 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, MARCH 4, 1974 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session March 4, 1974, at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building in said City serving as a committee in charge of the, operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant. Mr. Merchanthouse presided with the following members present: Messrs. Brown, Cornett, Elstro, Geier, Marino, Mills and Williams. Absent: Dr. Shields . The following business was had to-wit: Mr. Mills moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded by Mr. Marino and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Cornett moved to approve the payment of bills, seconded by Mr. Geier and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. APPROVE THE FOLLOWING: Bills in the amount of $209,169.46 Interest Coupons 11 ,978.75 1 Payroll 63,475.43 INVESTMENTS PURCHASED Cash Reserve Fund $ 62,147.10 U.S. Treasury Notes, Maturing 12/31/74 yielding 7.8% interest. Mr. Irving Huffman, General Manager, stated he had reviewed the bids taken February 18, 1974, for Oil Circuit Breakers. Some companies bid on all items while two companies presented incomplete bids by not bidding on tank lifters as specified. Mr. Huffman recommended Richmond Electric,which presented the lowest bid figure ($71 ,505.00 - total ) and also had an early date of delivery, be awarded the bid. Mr. Geier moved to award the bid for Oil Circuit Breakers to Richmond Elec- tric, seconded by Mr. Williams and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Huffman said RP&L street light crew has been increaded by four people. They are in need of a light duty truck with a dump body and a general purpose truck. He asked for authorization to take bids on these two trucks. Mr. Brown moved to authorize for bids to be taken for two trucks, seconded by Mr. Williams and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Huffman stated I & M has received a large allotment of oil in the amount of 450,000 gallons per month thru JUne 1974. Mr. Huffman told the committee he would be leaving to attend a coal by wire meeting at the Federal Power Commission in Washington D.C. Mr. Merchanthouse said an executive meeting of the Board would be held Monday, March 11 , 1974. There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed, the meeting was adjourned.
