HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-02-1973 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, APRIL 2, 1973 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session April 2, 1973, at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building of said City serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant. Mr. Williams presided with the following members present: Messrs. Brown, Cornett, Elstro, Marino, Merchanthouse, Mills , Shields. Absent: Mr. Stigleman. The following business was had to-wit: Mr. Marino moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded by Mr. Mills and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Marino moved to approve the bills and progressive payments , seconded by Mr. Mills and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. APPROVE THE FOLLOWING: Bills in the amount of $ 151 ,147.91 Interest Coupons 2,090.00 1 Payroll 61 ,971 .15 PROGRESSIVE PAYMENTS ON: Cooling Tower $ 14,043.85 Station Battery & Charger 1 ,475.54 Electrical Construction 6,840.00 Auxiliary Heat Exchanger 1 ,168.50 Black & Veatch Resident Engineers 4,518.00 Electrical Construction - Downtown Office 4,410.00 Mechanical Construction - Downtown Office 2,111 .40 PURCHASE OF INVESTMENTS : Cash Reserve Fund $ 120,000.00 The Above investments are Certificate of Deposits yielding 7% interest, maturing 12/28/73 Mr. Irving Huffman, General Manager, reported to make sure of 100 percent reliable operation of the new istallation inthe Whitewater Valley Station more testing has become necessary. Testing is being done during the day- light hours to keep the annoyance to a minimum . The purpose of the "blow-offs" is to clean the steam handling system. The installation of street lights at the U.S. 27 South and Boston Pike triangle is awaiting resetting of wooden poles by General Telephone Co. , due to the fact that the two utilities share the poles. The Federal Power Commission is trying to push the hearing up to the 22nd of May. Our attorney is tryi ng to get an earlier date.. The first bills made out on the new computer will go out in the mail this Thursday. Mr. Marino reported priority number ten is next in line for the street lighting project.
