A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, DECEMBER 4, 1972
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session December
4, 1972, at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building
of said City serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond
Power & Light Plant. Mr. Elstro presided with the following members present: Messrs.
Brown, Cornett, Merchanthouse, Mills, Shields, Stigleman and Williams. Absent:
Mr. Marino. The following business was had to-wit:
Dr. Shields moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded by Mr.
Stigleman, and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
Mr. Mills moved to approve the bills, progressive payments and transfers from Cash
Operating Fund, seconded by Mr. Stigleman, and on unanimous voice vote the motion
was carried.
APPROVE THE FOLLOWING:
Bills in the amount of $ 99,494.05
Interest Coupons 15.00
1 Payroll 63,423.66
PROGRESSIVE PAYMENTS ON:
Black & Veatch Resident Engineers $ 4,275.00
Mechanical Const. - Downtown Office 4,901.40
TRANSFER FROM CASH OPERATING FUND TO:
Reserve Fund-Cash (for Civil City) $411,974.30
Mr. Huffman reported on the following:
Proof of Publication for bids on the Line Department car was made -and run the
first time November 24, 1972 and run again December 1, 1972. Publication must run
at least ten days prior to bid openings.
Dr. Shields moved to accept the bids, seconded by Mr. Stigleman and on unanimous
voice vote the motion was carried.
Two bids were filed.
First bid opened by Mr. Huffman from Kurdys Chevrolet was on bid form 95 accompanied
withaa check in the amount of $165.00 with a properly signed non-collision affidavit,
four door Bel Air; delivery price, $4,212.40; less allowance on 1967 Chev. car #10,
$916.50; net price, $3,295.90; delivery date, four to six weeks.
Second bid opened by Mr. Huffman from Fred First, Inc. on form 95, signed non -
collision affidavit, accompanied with certified check in the amount of $160.00, four
door Custom 500; delivery price, $3,332.89; less allowance on 1967 Chev. car #10,
$175.00; net price $3,157.89; tinted glass $41.00; delivery date, approximately 45
days after order.
Mr. Stigleman moved to refer bids to Mr.Huffman at the next meeting, seconded by
Dr. Shields and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried.
Christmas gift to Richmond Power & Light employees was discussed.
Mr. Stigleman moved to again this year give each employee $10.00 seconded by Mr. Mills
and on voice vote of seven (7) to one (1) the motion was carried.
There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and passed, the
meeting was adjourned.
