HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-20-1972 PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, MARCH 20, 1972 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light Plant, met in regular session, March 20, 1972, at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, in said City. Mr. Elstro presided with the following members present: Messrs. Brown, Cornett, Marino, Merchanthouse, Mills, Shields, Stigleman and Williams. Absent: None. III The following business was had to-wit: Dr. Shields moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, seconded by Mr. Mills , and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Stigleman moved to approve bills, progressive payments and transfers, seconded by Mr. Cornett, and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. APPROVE THE FOLLOWING: Bills in the amount of $280,501 .23 Interest Coupons 401 .88 1 Payroll 58,930.41 PROGRESSIVE PAYMENTS ON: Electrostatic Precipitators $ 28,195.20 Mechanical Construction 178,812.68 Electrical Equipment 10,112.40 Electrical Construction 34,425.00 Control & Instrumentation Equip. 9,673.20 TRANSFER FROM CASH OPERATING FUND TO: Utility Bond Fund $ 62,207.43 Utility Bond Reserve Fund 40,000.00 Depreciation Reserve Fund 57,000.00 III Mr. Huffman reported that they have received the Bill of Lading for the Turbine Generator from General Electric and was advised that the last major part of the turbine generator has been shipped. A check will be sent to General Electric March 21 , 1972, in the amount of $1 ,444,071 .20 for 80% payment which is due on receipt of the Bill of Lading. Mr. Huffman asked for authorization to take bids for two network transformers in the downtown mall area for First National Bank, expressly to serve the new building which will have all electric heat requiring the use of either one 750 KVA or two 500 KVA transformers. Mr. Huffman reported they figure on using two 500 KVA transformers. Mr. Marino asked what the cost would be to Richmond Power & Light for First National , Mr. Huffman stated that the transformers will run .$7,500.00 a piece and the network protectors $2,500.00 a piece, which is usually furnished by the utility. There will be no changes to the Mall included. Dr. Shields stated this would roughly cost $10,000.00 and Mr. Huffman said that was correct. Mr. Cornett moved to receive bids on the transformers April 3, 1972, seconded by Dr. Shields and an unanimous voice vote the motion was carried. Mr. Huffman recommended the Board accept and award the lowest and best bid for a 1972 model 4 door sedan to Fred First, Inc. for $2,581 .85. Mr. Marino moved the Board con- cur with Mr. Huffman's recommendation, seconded by Mr. Stigleman, and on unanimous voice III vote the motion was carried.
