AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, The Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program has grant funding available; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Fire Department desires to submit a grant application to obtain funds that will be used to procure: (1) a robotic teaching assistance (talking dog in a
fire truck) and related teaching handouts; (2) infant and child car seats for distribution at car seat checkpoints; and (3) smoke alarms and batteries for distribution to senior citizens;
and
WHEREAS, no local match is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Fire Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
2. The City of Richmond Fire Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Twenty Four Thousand Five Hundred Dollars and No Cents ($24,500.00).
3. Said grant funding shall be used to procure: (1) a robotic teaching assistance (talking dog in a fire truck) and related teaching handouts; (2) infant and child car seats for distribution
at car seat checkpoints; and (3) smoke alarms and batteries for distribution to senior citizens
Passed and adopted this 19th day of September ___ 2005, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
