YOUTH CRIME COALITION
BACKGROUND
At the request of the Village Board, Administrator Van Vooren
and I have been working on establishing a framework to respond to
the ever increasing crime by youth in our community. We fully
realize that the Police Department can not be the sole solution to
the growing problem. Therefore, aver the last couple of weeks, we
have solicited and obtained the support of the following local
agencies:
PLAINFIELD FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
PLAINFIELD PARK DISTRICT
PLAINFIELD Pi7BLIC LIBRARY
PLAINFIELD SCHOOL DISTRICT
PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP
These agencies have agreed to participate in a series of
meetings to develop a community based program to address youth
crime. We hope to commence the process quickly, and we also be
soliciting the help of any additional agencies or individuals.
As a kick-off we desire to release the attached statement of
our intentions.
