RESOLUTION NO. 1105
RESOLUTION EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE 9-1-1 SYSTEM REFERENDUM
ON APRIL 4, 1995
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Plainfield recognize the need for efficient and timely
communications between our dispatch centers and our responding
emergency personnel; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees have
previously supported the passage of the enhanced 9-1-]. system
referendum, wha.ch passed by an overwhelming vote of the residents
of Will County; and
WHEREAS, the 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System Board has
recommended the increase on the telephone surcharge of fifty cents
per month to prova.de for the basic network of a county-wide
emergency radio system, which can be used by all emergency service
personnel in Will County; and
WHEREAS, the Will County Board has passed an ordinance
authorizing the question of voter approval of this increase in the
surcharge to be included on all the ballots in will County at the
Apra.l 4, 1995, election;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the President and
Board of Trustees of the Village of Plainfield, along with the
emergency ,services staff, request support and passage by the
citizens of Plainfield, and the surrounding Will County area, for
the surcharge increase referendum for the new emergency radio
system.
