HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution No. 24-032 - Provide City Commission with a report concerning meetings with CIG representativeSponsored by: Commissioner Kelley RESOLUTION NO. 24-032 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE INTERIM CITY MANAGER TO PROVIDE THE CITY COMMISSION WITH A REPORT CONCERNING MEETINGS WITH THE CHIEF INSPECTOR GENERAL'S (CIG) OVERSIGHT REPRESENTATIVE; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission engages in weekly rotating meetings with the Chief Inspector General and City management regarding the status of the City's Financial Oversight; and WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to receive updates from the Interim City Manager or City Manager so that every commissioner is appropriately informed each week concerning meetings between City Management and the Representative from the Chief Inspector General's Office during scheduled conference calls even when all city commissioners are not attending; and WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it is the best interest of the City and its residents to direct the Interim City Manager or City Manager to provide the entire City Commission with a written report no later than 4:00 I'M on the Tuesday following the scheduled call between the Chief Inspector General's Representative and city management concerning City oversight. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. RECITALS ADOPTED. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference. SECTION 2. AUTHORIZATION The City Commission of the City of Opa-Locka hereby directs the Interim City Manager or City Manager to provide the City Commission with a written report concerning meetings with the Chief Inspector General (CIG) on the City's oversight call no later than 4:00 PM on the Tuesday following the oversight related meeting. SECTION 3. SCRIVENER'S ERRORS. Sections of this Resolution may be renumbered or re -lettered and corrections of typographical errors, which do not affect the intent of this Resolution may be authorized by the Interim City Manager, following review by the City Attorney, Resolution No. 24-032 without need of public hearing, by filing a corrected copy of same with the City Clerk. SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE This Resolution shall take effect upon the adoption and is subject to the approval of the Governor or Governor's Designee. Staff Summary: The City Commission and City Attorney engage in weekly rotating meetings with the Chief Inspector General and City Administration regarding the status of the City's Financial Oversight. It is requested by the City Commission that the Interim City Manager provides a written update by 4pm on the following Tuesday after a conference call has been conducted with the Chief Inspector General (CIG) or its appointee. Financial Impact: There is no financial impact at this time.
