M. The following members of said Board being present, Messrs, Hammond and. 71mnerman,Absent Mr. Charles. The following proceeLlings were had, to -wit:. A vacancy having ocCured in the Fire Department on account of the death of ,alter J, Paulus, Assistant Chief, the Board meets for the purpose of appointing his successor and a new member of Bald Department. The Board unanimously appoint Frank Carter, the present captain of Hose Co. No. 2, Assistant Fire Chief, & advance Carl Wadman to the position of Captain of Hose Co, No. 2. The Board also ap. point Charles Skinner a member of Hose Coo No, 5. Fire Chief E.E,Mlller announces the following line up of the lira Department of the City. Hook & Ladder Co. B 8 , to -wit:, The Board receives bids for the Improvement of the alley between North Go and H Str:et By the construction of one of the folw- ing pavements, Brick, Bitullthic, Asphalt or Cement, from loNorth 8th to loth Stroet, as Provided for by Improvement' No, 219.19109 as follows:- Schneider Bros, Bid 'Dement Roadway - - - - 17.} cents per square it. Daniel G, Burkhardt, Bid rCement Roadway complete, - - - 15 The Board thereupon designates that said alley between the points named, be paved with cement, The Bid of Daniel G. Burkhardt being the lowest and under the esti- mate of the City Civil Engineer, on motion the contract was awarded to the said Daniel 0, Burkhardt, The Boilers in the City Hall being reported out of order, the Board on motion directs the President of Board to hire competent person to repair same. Representatives from The Dayton Stodard Motor Car Co. of Dayton, Ohio, appeared before the Board, requesting the privilege of said diul factory enTploye t s to hold a picnic at the Olen Park on Saturday July 30th, 1910. The Board grants said request. On motion the Board decide to dispose of all unecessary animals at the Olen Park. The City Clerk submits copies of Licenses & receipts used in 001 neetlon with the Vehicle ordinance at Greenfield Indiana, the City Attorney, Mayor and. City Controller decide to go to Dayton, Ohio, at an earlydate to investigate the methods and forms used at said city, In connection with vehicle ordinance.
