MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A
COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT PLANT, NOVEMBER 3, 1969
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a
committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power & Light
Plant, met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the
Municipal Bldg. , in said City November 3, 1969 at the hour of 7:00
o'clock p.m. Councilman P. Marino presiding with the following mem-
bers present: Messrs. Blackwood, Elstro, Geier, Henn, Hilligoss,
F. Marine, Paust, AbsenticStigleman'4 .-eThe following business was
had to-wit:
Mr. F. Marino moved to approve the minutes of the previous meeting,
seconded by Mr. Paust and on unanimous voice vote the motion was
carried.
Mr. F. Marino moved that the following be approved and paid, seconded
by Mr. Hilligoss and on unanimous voice vote the motion was carried:
Approve the following:
Bills in the amount of $ 106,018.83
Interest Coupons 387.50
1 Payroll 60,287.58 ,
Mr. Beck said the budget has been delayed but copies would be mailed
to all Board members before the next meeting.
Mr. Beck reported that the interconnecting substation will be completed
by the first of the year. The road has been widened and concrete bases
poured.
Mr. Beck recommended that the Board receive bids for a car to replace
a 68 Dodge Dart, two-door, from the Commercial Department, which has
been demolished beyond repair in an accident. He said R. P. & L. will
sue for damages. Mr. Hilligoss moved that the Board receive bids for
a standard four-door car with air conditioning to replace the 1966 model
automobile presently being used by Mr. Beck and use Mr. Beck's car in
the Commercial Department, seconded by Mr. Paust and on unanimous voice
vote the motion was carried.
Chairman P. Marino asked whether any plans have been made to move a-north
end substation to make room for a housing project. He said Mr. Beck
should make plans with Mr. Cecere. Mr. Henn asked who pays for moving
the substation, Mr. Geier said he thought the substation would not be
adequate for the hospital facilities anyway-.
Mr. Henn expressed concern by neighbors about a substation at So. 16th
and "B" Sts. being properly ;fenced to keep children from digging under
the fence. Mr. Beck said that the fencing was standard at all R.P.U.
installations and none have had any problems, and there is no voltage
hazard, however, he said a concrete foundation could be put in.
There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and
carried, the meeting adjourned.
