M. All the r3 of said Board being present: Messrs, Hammond, Charles and Zimmerman The following proceedings were had, to-vrit:- A petition was presented, signed by the Rev, J. F. Mattingly ,at of St. Mary's Church, to construct under private contract cement sidewalk on the west aide of North 8th street from North "A" St, to the 1st alley north, Also on the north side of North "A" St, from North 8th Street to the 13t alley west; The Board grants said petition providing the said sidewalk on North RAN Street is made from North 7th to 8th Street, said work to be done under the direction and supervision of the City Civil Engineer, A petition was presented, signed by We W, A1Px6nder, to construct under private contract cement sidewalk abutting No. 200-202 & 204 North 8th street, the Clerk was directed to notify Mr, Alexander to petition for the whole block from North "B" to "C" Streets A petition was presented, signed by W. A. Knoll for permission to remove a tree abutting his property No. 43 South 5th Streit, petition granted.. Claims to the amount of $1000.00, were filed with the Board by Wilfred Jessup Attorney for Albertus Hawkins et -al VS, City of Richmond, Indiana, for injuries alleged to have been received on September 17th 19099 by said A. Hawkins, wife & child, and Horse,wagon & harness at the North-west 2nd street viaduct, a notice of which accident had been filed with the former City Clerk, C, W, Merrill, on October 13th, 1909, The Board not having any notification of said accident heretofore in said cause, refers the claim to the City Attorney for investigation. Persuant to postponrnent to this date of the hearing of persons interested in the widening of West 5th Street, from National - road to the main track of the P, C. C. & St. L, Rye Co. to a width of 59005 feet, as provided for b Declaratory Resolution NO, 54-1910, and against which proceedings, a remonstrance had been filed by Chas. E. Bell, the Board not having been able to go over the ground carefully postpones further action on same to Monday September 19th, 19100 The Board did then adjourn President of Board. Burris, for permission to construct under private contract, a ceuent sidewalk at the side of No,Z;24 &U26 North "E" Street, taken under advisment, A petition was presented , signed by W, W, Alexander, for permission to construct under private contract, a cement sidewalk 8 feet wide on the west side of North 8th Stret, from North "B to "C" Street, the Board grants said. petition, said work to be done under the inspection and approval of the City Civil Engineer. A petition for a resolution providing .for the improvement of Linden Ave., by constructing a cement sidewalk 6 feet in width on the south side of said Ave. from the east line of the Harris addition, to West 5th strut was presented and taken under advisment, A petition was presented, to annex Benton Heights to the City of Richmond, signed by W, A. Grimes & 9 others, Likewise a remonstrance remonstrating against said annexation of said Benton Heights, said Petition together with the remonstrance was referred to the Common Council of the City; The Board directs the Clerk to notify Wm. 1)icks to remove the Scales from North "A" Street abutting his property on North sidepf N."A"St" between North 5" & 6" Street. The Board meets to hear remonstrances if any from persons primarily assessed on account of the construction of a sanitary sewer in the alley north of North "I" Street from North 8th to loth Street, and in the alley west of North loth Street from the first alley north of North "I" Street south to North "I" Street as provided for by Im- provement Resolution No. 222-1910 No one appearing or remonstrating the Board approves a final assessment roll confirming in all things the original assessment roll as heretofore approved, and orders the same transmitted forthwith to the Department of Finance.
