HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-15-1968 6 % MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE • RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT PLANT, JULY 15, 1968 T,he Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power and Light Plant met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Building in said City, Monday, July 15, 1968, at the hour of 7:00 o'clock P.M. (EST). Councilman Geier presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. Blackwood, Elstro, Henn, Hilligoss, F. Marino, P. Marino, Paust and Stigleman. The following business was had to-wit: Councilman Frank Marino moved the Minutes of the previous meeting stand as read,' seconded IIIlby Councilman Stigleman and on unanimous voice vote was carried. _ Councilman Frank Marino moved the following be approved, seconded by Councilman Blackwood and on unanimous voice vote was carried. Approve the following: Bills in the mount of $212,217.81 1 Payroll 53,621.44 Interest Coupons & "1953 Revenue Bonds" 60,748.75 Transfer from Cash Operating Fund to: Cash Reserve Fund 60,341.19 Depreciation Reserve Fund 36,000.00 Utility Bond Fund 23,530.00 - Mr. Beck, General Manager, asked the Board's permission to advertise for bids for two (2) 2500-kilowatt transformers to provide service to the new Mercury Record Manufacturing site. Councilman Frank Marino moved this permission be granted, seconded by Councilman Hilligoss and on unanimous voice vote was carried. Mr. Beck told the Board that he had received notice from Penn Central R.R. that all deliv- eries for coal delivered after June 24th would be at a 3% higher rate (8(t per ton). Mr. IIIBeck told the Board that this notice was received although he has heard nothing from PSC on a remonstrance against the raise placed at an earlier date. Mr. Cecere, City Attorney, advised Mr. Beck to pay no increases until he has received word from PSC on the original objection. Mr. Beck told the Board he would like a meeting on the insurance and retirement plans for employees as soon as possible. Councilman Geier, Chairman of the Board, with its approval, set Monday night, July 22nd, at 7:00 P.M. at the Light Plant for such a meeting.
