HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-17-1968 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT PLANT, JUNE 17, 1968 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power and Light Plant met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Building in said City, Monday, June 17,. 1968, • at the hour of 7:00 o'clock P.M. (EST). Councilman Geier presiding with the follow- ing members being present: Messrs. Blackwood, Elstro, Henn, Hilligoss, F. Marino, P. Marino, Paust and Stigleman. The following business was had to-wit: Councilman Frank Marino moved the Minutes stand as read, seconded by Councilman Phil Marino and on unanimous voice vote was carried. Councilman Elstro moved the following be approved, seconded by Councilman Hilligoss and on unanimous voice vote was carried. Approve the following: Bills in the amount of $217,491.87 Interest Coupons - .1953 Revenue Bonds 150.00 -- 1 Payroll 54,642.02 Transfers from Cash Operating Fund to: - Cash Reserve Fund 84,611.58 Utility Bond Fund 23,530.20 Depreciation Reserve Fund 36,000.00 Mr. Beck presented the following letter to the Board: A. E. Beck June 10, 1968' General Manager After the fund 'transfers are made next Monday night there will be an amount of $168,000.00 available for investment in, the Cash Reserve Fund. The -best investment at this _time would be U.S. Treasury bills, maturing December 31, 1968 present yield 5.55%. ... On approval of, the above we will place our order with the Second National Bank. /s/ E. S. Porter Councilman Stigleman moved this authority be given, seconded by Councilman Phil Marino and on unanimous voice vote was carried. . Mr. Beck examined Proof of Publication on bids for a truck chassis. Councilman, Hilli- goss moved Proof of Publication be accepted and filed, seconded by Councilman Stigle- man and on unanimous voice vote was carried. The following bid was opened: Fred First, Inc. C-950 $7,932.53 T.I. 450.00 Net 7,482.53 Councilman Frank Marino moved this bid be given to Mr. Beck for tabulation and recommendation, seconded by Councilman Elstro and on unanimous voice vote wasc.carried. Mr. Beck examined Proof of Publication on a line construction body. Councilman Frank Marino moved Proof of Publication be accepted and filed, seconded by Councilman Stigleman and on unanimous voice vote was carried. Councilman Henn moved Mr. Beck be given this permission to advertise for bids, seconded by Councilman Frank Marino and on -unanimous voice vote was carried. Councilman Henn asked if they had made any agreement or had had any meeting on light plant salaries. Councilman Phil Marino reported to Councilman Henn that this would ;be brought up at their Monday night meeting. .
