HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-04-1968 a�- .y ' "`` MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT PLANT, MARCH 4, 1968 • The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power and Light Plant met in regular session in the Council Chambers in- the City Building in said City, Monday, March-4, 1968. at the hour of 7:00 o'clock P.M. (EST). Councilman Geier presiding with the following members - being present: Messrs. Blackwood, Elstrd, Henn, Hilligoss, Phil Marino, Frank Marino, Paust and Stigleman. The following business was had to-wit: • Councilman Frank Marino moved the Minutes stand as read, seconded by Councilman Stigleman and on unanimous voice vote was carried. Councilman Phil Marino moved the following be approved, seconded by Councilman Henn111 and on voice vote was carried. Approve the following: • • Bills in the amount of $100,447.53 Interest i.n,Coupons - 1953 Revenue Bonds 643.75 • 1 Payroll 51,364.87 Mr. Beck presented the tabulation of bids opened February 19,. 1968 for furnishing two (2) new 1968 2-Door Sedans. Dodge Dart $2,594.15 $1,058.00 $1,536.15 30 days 1700 N.W. 5th St. Mr. Beck recommended the bid of Raper Sales, Inc. on Item I be accepted. Councilman Frank Marino moved that Mr. Beck' s recommendation be accepted, seconded by Councilman Elstro, and on unanimous voice vote was carried. Mr. Beck recommended the bid of Raper Sales, Inc. on- Item II .be accepted. Councilman Stigleman moved that Mr. Beck' s recommendation be accepted, seconded by Councilman Paust and on unanimous voice vote was carried. Mr. Beck asked authorization of the Board to extend their siding track 250 feet. Mr. Beck told be Board that the rail, ties and other necessary equipment for this extension can be bought from the C.& 0. Railroad for $1,'671.58 and that the Newbury Construction Company would install this track for $1,876.00. This is for the Whitewater Valley Station. • Councilman Henn questioned Mr. Beck as to what advantage this track extension would be to the plant operation. Mr. Beck stated this would permit more unloading without having to switch cars so often. Councilman Blackwood moved Mr. Beck be allowed to proceed with this extension, seconded by Councilman Hilligoss and on unanimous voice vote was carried.
