DURBIN - COMMUNICY DEVELOPMENT A. PERSONS - PUBLIC WORKS T. L. BURGHARD - VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR L. VAUPEL - ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT The Public Hearing regarding a proposed annexation agreement for the Schroeder property, 40 acres at the Southwest corner of County Line Road and Walker Road was opened. Director Durbin stated that the applicant is seeking consideration for zoning and annexation of the subject property pursuant to the annexation agreement. The property is 40 acres located at the southwest corner of Walker Road and County Line Road. Currently the applicant's property is unincorporated and zoned agricultural. The applicant desires to annex the property to the Village of Plainfield and rezone the subject property to a zoning classification to allow educational institutions and/or residential development. The parcel is not currently contiguous with the Village limits but located with Plainfield's Facility Planning Area. The agreement would be a pre-annexation agreement and annexation would occur once contiguity is established. Staff would recommend that the annexation agreement designate the rezoning as R-1 (Low Density Single Family Residence District) with a maximum density of 3.5 DU/acre. This would give more flexibility to the owner by allowing residential should a school site be found not to be feasible on this site. Several trustees indicated they might want to restrict the type of educational institution, especially if it would include maintenance and/or storage facilities. The records show that there were no public comments and no objectors to the annexation in the audience. S. Rathbun moved to close the public hearing. Seconded by S. Calabrese. Vote by roll call.
