HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-02-1968 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT PLANT, JANUARY 2. 1968 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power and Light Plant met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Building in said City, Tuesday,, January 2, 1968 at the hour of 7:00 o!clock p.m. (est). Councilman Hilligoss presiding with the following mem- bers being present: Messrs. Blackwood, Elstro, Geier, Henn, Phil Marino, Frank Marino, Paust and Stigleman. The following business was had to-wit: Councilman Frank Marino made a motion Councilman John Hilligoss act as Chairman of the board and it was seconded by Phil Marino passed unanamous by voice vote. Councilman Frank Marino moved the minutes of the previous meeting stand as read and seconded by Phil Marino and on voice vote was carried. Councilman Frank Marino moved the following be allowed and paid, seconded <;by Councilman Phil Marino and on voice vote was carried. APPROVE THE FOLLOWING: . Bills in the amount of $115,669.01 Interest Coupons-1953 Revenue Bonds 30.00 2 Payrolls .51,815.64 Mr. Irving Huffman assistant administrator to Mr. Earl Beck presented an eight point program to Council members which was set up by Mr. Beck. 1. New interconnection sub-station on Hodgin road with I & M Electric. 2. What to do with Johnson street station. 3. Emergency start up equipment. 4. Gas turbin peaking unit. . . 5. Consider a 65,000 Kilowatt in available space in the 'Whitewater Valley generating station to provide more local generation and reduce increased use of pur- chased power to supply the growing customer need. 6. Consider putting more residential distributions under ground. 7. Acquiring more storage building facilities for the line department and generating station equipment. 8. Improve the communications system. There being no further business on motion duly made, Councilman Frank Marino moved for adjournment and seconded by Councilman Phil Marino. • Jerry Geier, Chairman Attest: Harold W.
