HomeMy Public PortalAbout010-2023 - Amended Rate Resolution CITY OF RICIIMOND, INI)IANA SANITARY DISTRICT AMEN f)E1) RATE REsoLuTK)N NO. 10-2022 WHEREAS, there exists sewer utility rates for the users in the Richmond Sanitary District ("I)istrict") that were adopted November 14, 1995 by Resolution 19-1994 of the Board of Sanitary Commissioners ("Board"), as amended by Resolution No. 7-2004 on June 8, 2004, as further amended by Resolution No. 2-2009 on February 10, 2009, Resolution No. 9-2012 on September 11, 2012 and Resolution No. 9-2017 on September 26, 2017, and approved by Ordinance No. 93-1995 of the Common (.1'.ouncil of the City of Richmond, Indiana ("City"), as amended by Ordinance No. 46-2004, as further amended by Ordinance No. 9-2009, Ordinance No. 39-2012 and Ordinance No. 46-2017; WI IEREAS, the Board for the District has caused studies to be prepared which reveal an increase in the sewer utility rates is necessary for the continued maintenance and operation of the District in its collection, treatment and disposal of waste and sewage into the District treatments works facility; and WIIEREAS, IC 36-9-25-11(e) requires a change of fees be approved by the Common Council of the City; NOW,THERFTORE, BE IT RESOLVLD BY THIF, BOARI) OF SANITARY COMMISSIONERS 01 TI RICI IMONI) SANITARY I)ISTRICT, TIIAT: Section 1. Solids above 225 mg/ the Richmond Sanitary 1.)istrict billed during the previous 12- month period. If the pounds of.B()D above 200 mg I. plus the pounds of Suspended Solids above 225 trig I. exceeded 250,000 total pounds, the distorter will be charged the BULK RA7FE .for the subsequent calendar year. 'The category will be evaluated on or after the 15th of January and applied to the next four quarterly (jan/Feb/Mar, Apr/May/June, July/Aug/Sept, and Oct/Nov/Dec) surcharge invoices. New customers will be placed in the category that corresponds to their projected discharge levels as contained in their Industrial Discharge Per nit. Section 2. 1the Phase I rates and charges set forth in Section 1 shall become effective for billings rendered after December 31, 2022.. Section 3. ''.111e, Phase II rates and charges set :forth in Section 1 shall become effective for billings rendered after December 31, 2023. Section 4. 'fhe Phase Ill rates and charges set forth in Section 1 shall become effective for billings rendered after December 31, 2024. Section 5. The above proposed rates should be taken to the Common Council for its approval in ordinance form. Section 6. All other provisions of and all other rates and charges established by. Ordinance No. 9:3-1995, as amended by Ordinance No. 46-2004, as further amended by. Ordinance No. 9-2009, Ordinance No. 39-2012 and Ordinance 46-2017 shall remain in full force and effect..
