Monday February,27th,19118
The Board of Public Works of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session at the office of said Board on Monday
February 27th, 1911, at 9 0 Clock A. M, All the members Of said
Board being present, Messrs, Hammond, Charles and Zimmerman,
The following proceedings were had, to -wit: -
A petition was presented, for the opening and exten3lon of
Randolph Street, from West 5th Street to West 8th Street, same
was taken under advisement,
The Board receives bids on castings for the City's needs for the
year ending March 1st, 1912, as follows:.
Robinson and Company, Bid:- - - - 03 cents per pound
The Wayne Works, Bid:- - - - - :03 + to "
Robinson & Co,, being the lowest bidder, contract was awarded to
said Robinson & Co,,
The Board receives bids for the furnishing of horses for the
City's use for the year ending February 28th, 1912, as follows: -
Harmon Shofer, Bid:.
Horses, and horses and buggy for Light Plant $65.00 per month.
Horse, harness & care of wagon for City Engineer $20,00 per year.
The Board takes said bid under advisement.
The Board receives bids for the re -roofing of the City Hall
Building as follows, to-wit:-
8, N, Johnson, Bid:-
' Re -roofing deck (or flat part of roof) not including the bell
tower, or ventilator which extends up from the main roof,
for the sum of - - - $420,67'
Moorman & Roland, Bid:-
• Re -roofing as per specifications on deck of City building
also Bell tower & ventilator - 4425,00 Complete.
The Board takes same under advisement,
Persuant to postponement to this date the Board meets to hear
all persons interested or whose property is affected by the
following described public improvement Improvement Resolution
No. 245-19119 providing for the improvemerit of South "A" Street
from South 1st to 2nd Street, by grading the roadway & construct'
cement curb & gutter on both sides thereof between the points
named. After hearing all persons interested vino appeared, and
being fully advised in the premises the Board decides filet the
benefits to property liable to be assessed will be nothing while
the estimated costs is Seven Hundred 0$700,00) Dollars, as re'
Ported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereu on takes,final
action on said resolution, as originally adopted, the same bring
,confirmed without modlfication with the provision that costs
Of said improvement shall b= '

The Board decides to apportion the insurance on the 1.4.E•L & Pop
so as to equalize the same by giving each agent carrying the
rom said insurance an equal share, by taking3000,00 policies f
each of the 18 agents carrying same,

The Bid of Daniel G, Burkhardt being the only one received
and being within the estimate of the City Civil F.npineer, on
motion the contract was awarded to said D, G, Burkhardt,
The Board approves contract of Port Huron Thresher Co, of
Port Huron, Mich„ for a Ten Ton Road Roller as per specifications
and price named in bid submitted therefor, for New York Port
Huron 10 ton road roller,
The Board did then adjourn,
