SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS — MEETING OF
MAY 15, 2013
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Recreation Commission
actions from their meeting of May 15, 2013.
BACKGROUND:
On May 15, 2013, the Parks and Recreation Commission held their regularly scheduled
meeting.
ANALYSIS:
Following is a summary of actions taken at the May 15, 2013 Parks and Recreation
Commission meeting:
1. ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner - Arrighi, Haddad, Vice -Chairman Georgino, Chairman
Fish
Absent: Commissioner - Wong
Excused: Commissioner - None
2. CONSENT CALENDAR
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the minutes from their Regular
Meeting of April 17, 2013, and received and filed the monthly reports for April
2013.

3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
A. The Parks and Recreation Commission received an update on the Parks and
Open Space Master Plan. Draft recommendations are expected to be
presented to the Commission in August, 2013.
B. The Parks and Recreation Commission received an update on the Fixed
Route Transit Study. Draft recommendations are expected to be presented
to the Commission in June, 2013.
4. NEW BUSINESS
A. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY AMATEUR SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION
(TCASA) FOR RESERVED USE OF THE ATHLETIC FIELDS AT LIVE OAK
PARK FOR POST SEASON GAMES AND PRACTICES MAY 16 — JULY 31,
2013
The Commission approved the request.
B. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY AMERICAN LITTLE LEAGUE (TCALL)
FOR RESERVED USE OF THE ATHLETIC FIELDS AND CONCESSION
STAND AT LIVE OAK PARK FOR ALL STAR GAMES AND PRACTICES
JUNE 10 —JULY 13, 2013
The Commission approved the request including extension of park hours
until 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday from June 10 — 22, 2013 for
completion of games only. TCALL to reimburse the City for all staff costs
after 10 p.m.
C. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY YOUTH FOOTBALL (TCYF) FOR
RESERVED USE OF THE ATHLETIC FIELDS AT LIVE OAK PARK FOR
PRE -SEASON CONDITIONING PRACTICE MAY 16 — JUNE 30, 2013 AND
FOR APPROVAL OF INFLATABLE BOUNCERS FOR OPENING DAY ON
AUGUST 3, 2013
The Commission approved both requests.
D. REQUEST FROM OAK AVENUE INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL FOR
RESERVED USE OF THE LIVE OAK PARK COMMUNITY CENTER FOR
THEIR 8T" GRADE PROMOTION DINNER AND DANCE ON JUNE 19,
2013
The Commission approved the request.

5. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS
A. The Commission received and filed the Parks and Recreation Director's
Report for May, 2013.
CONCLUSION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file this report.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2012-13 City Budget.
