HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-03-1967 a( MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT PLANT, JULY 3, 1967 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power and Light Plant met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Building in said City, Monday, July 3, 1967 at the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. (est). Councilman Backmeyer presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. Bell, Hilligoss, Hollingsworth, Marino and Paust. Councilmen Henn, Youngflesh aid Yount absent. The following business was had to-wit: Councilman Marino moved the minutes of the previous meeting be approved without being read aloud, seconded by Councilman Paust and on voice vote was carried. Councilman Hollingsworth moved the following be allowed and paid, seconded by , Councilman Hilligoss and on voice vote was carried. Approve the following: Bills in the amount of $116,287.41 1 - Payroll 47,357.61 Councilman Hilligoss moved the following be accepted: July 3, 1967 MOTION: 1. That all employees of Richmond Power and Light on the payroll on and after July 1, 1967, excluding City Officials, shall receive a 3% increase in their base hourly rate, or monthly salary, plus an additional amount of $25.00 per month for a total of $300.00 per year. 2. That all employees having twelve or more years of continuios service, but less than 25 years, as of January 1, 1968, shall be -entitled to three weeks of vacation with pay. ' 3. That all Line Dept. employees purchase their hand tools, including belt and climbers and any gloves not now furnished by the Utility. The Utility will replace any tools, or other equipment, when worn out or broken. Any tools or equipment lost or maliciously damaged by an employee shall be replaced$at the expense of the employee. When the employee leaves the Line Dept. or the employ- ment of the Utility, the Utility will, upon receipt of tools and other equipment, refund to the employee the cost of such tools and equipment. 4. That the Utility will pay 99% of the employee's portion of .th4 hospital and medical insurance premiums. Councilman Paust seconded this motion and on voice vote was carried. - Mr. Beck brought out a letter received from the Federal Power Commission dated June 26, 1967 that a meeting date had been set by said commission for the study of Indiana and Michigan cost to serve interconnections. . The date set for the meeting is July 14, 1967 in Washington, D.C. Mr. Beck stated that he sees no reason for the Richmond Power and Light to be in attendance. Council concurred that there was no reason: to attend this meeting. Mr. Beck presented a prepared Resolution from the Clearview Cable of Richmond, Inc. setting out that it is desired that all Council members serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power and Light authorize the General Manager to sign the agreement of pole attachments to serve Richmond Cable T.V. Mr. Beck recommended that this be taken under advisement for further study with the City Attorney. Council concurred in this recommendation.
