MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA SERVING AS A
COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF.THE OPERATION OF THE
RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT PLANT, JUNE 19, 1967
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana serving as a committee in
charge of the operation of the Richmond Power and Light Plant met in regular
session in the Council Chambers in the City Building in said City, Monday,
June 19, 1967 at the hour. of 7:00 o'clock p.m. (est). Councilman 'Backmeyer
presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. Bell, Henn,.
Hilligoss, Hollingsworth, Marino and Youngflesh. Councilmen Paust and Yount
absent. The following business was had to-wit:
Councilman Henn moved the minutes of the previous meeting be approved without
being read aloud, seconded by Councilman Bell and on voice vote was carried.'
Councilman Youngflesh moved the following claims and transfers be allowed and
paid, seconded by Councilman Henn and on voice vote was carried.
Approve the following:
Bills in the amount of S238,002.22
1 - Payroll 51,268.70
Interest Coupons - 1953 Revenue Bonds 135.00
Transfers from Cash Operating Fund to:
Cash Reserve Fund 65,840.46.
Depreciation Reserve Fund 36,000.00
Utility Bond Fund 24,102.92
Chairman Backmeyer reported that the dividends to the City from the Richmond
Power and Light Plant would be $881,113.77 for the year 1968, which represents
50% of the earnings of the Richmond Power and Light Plant from July 1, 1966
to June 30, 1967.
JMr. Beck commented on the dividend in the above amount as it was expected
to be less this year due to the rates being reduced more than $225,000 the
past year, also the inc rease in coal and freight rates.
Mr. Beck presented the tabulation of bids opened June 5, 1967.

Mr. Beck stated that the bid of the Warfield GMC was the low bid and met the
specifications and so recommended their bid.
Councilman Hollingsworth moved the bid of the Warfield GMC be accepted, seconded
by Councilman Bell and on voice vote was carried. .

Mr. Beck stated that the bid of the Warfield GNG was the lowest bid submitted
and met with the specifications and he would so recommend their bid.
Councilman Hollingsworth moved the bid of Waifield GMC be accepted, seconded by
Councilman Marino and on voice vote was carried.

Mr. Beck stated that the bid of the Warfield GMC was the lowest bid submitted
and met with the specifications and he so recommended their bid.
Councilman Youngflesh moved the bid of the Warfield GMC be accepted, seconded
by Councilman Hilligoss and on voice vote was carried.
Mr. Beck reported that Ordinance No. 2279-1967 had been prepared for Council's
consideration for the June 19th meeting and would appreciate this ordinance
being passed on said date. The ordinance provides for the authorization of the
Board of-Public Works and Safety to make purchase for the Richmond Power and
Light from The Public Service Company of Indiana, Inc. of 212 customers for the
amount in the sum of $72,139.00. This purchase includes the intangibles and
real property. The customers are located in the south area and west area of
the City.
Councilman Henn moved this committee accept the proposal of the Public Service of
Indiana, Inc. , seconded -by Councilman Hilligoss and on voice vote was carried..
Mr. Beck reported a peak of 66,740 Kilowatt Hours for 30 minutes on June 13,1967.
On June 16, 1967 there was recorded a 30 minute peak of'67710 Kilowatt Hours.
Chairman Backmeyer announced that there will be a meeting of Council members to
be held in the conference room of the Whitpwater Valley Station June 26th at the
hour of 7:00 P.M.
There being no further business on motion duly made, seconded and carried the
meeting adjourned.
