HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-05-1967 • MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF.THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE ' ' RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT PLANT, JUNE 5, 1967 The Common Council of the City. of Richmond, Indiana serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power and Light Plant met in regular _ session in the Council Chambers in the City Building in said City, Monday, June 5, 1967 at ,the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. (est). Councilman Backmeyer presiding with the •fo1lowi.ng':members being present: Messrs. Bell, .Henn, Hilligoss, Hollingsworth, Marino, Paust, Youngflesh and Yount. The following business was had to-wit: Councilman Hilligoss moved the minutes of the previous meeting be approved with- out being read aloud, seconded by Councilman Marino and on voice vote was carried. Councilman Youngflesh moved the following claims be allowed and paid, seconded by Councilman Henn and on voice vote was carried: Approve the following: Bills in the amount of . $134,465.72 Interest Coupons - 1953 Revenue Bonds . 135.00 .1 - Payroll 48-,010.36 Mr. Beck presented the tabulation of the bids opened May 15, 1967. Mr. Beck stated that the bid of the Westinghouse Electric Supply Company was the low bidder and met with the specifications and recommended their bid. Mr. Beck stated that the bid of the Westinghouse Electric Supply Company was the low • bidder and met with the specifications and recommended the bid. ,79 Councilman Yount moved the recommendation of Mr. Beck be concurred with, seconded by C\3 Councilman Hollingsworth and on voice vote was carried. a Mr. Beck presented proof of publication of Notice To Bidders printed in the Richmond = Palladium-Item a newspaper of general circulation on the dates of May 19 - 21 - 31 and C June 1, 1967. Said notice designated the date of June 5, 1967 at the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. (est) bids would be received, opened and read aloud for furnishing the Richmond Power and Light Plant with motorized equipment according to specifications on file. The proof of publication was examined and found ,to be correct and in order. Councilman Yount moved the proof of publication be received and filed, second- ed by Councilman Youngflesh and on voice vote was carried. June 5, 1967 at the hour of 7:00 o'clock (est) being the date and time to opiem and read aloud all bids received. The following bids were opened and reed aloud: IIIItem 1 - One new 1967 model 6-cylinder van type truck, less trade-in allowance on 1962 1/2 ton Dodge Truck. Fred First, Inc. Warfield G.M.C. Kurdys Chevrolet Councilman Yount moved that all bids be referred,to 'Mir. Beck for tabulation 'and recommendation, seconded. by Councilman Hilligoss and on voice vote was carried. : Mr. Beck reported that the maintenance program at the Whitewater, Valley Station had been completed and all the equipment was on the line and working 'satisfactorily.
