OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA SERVING AS A
COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF .THE OPERATION OF THE
RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT PLANT,- DECEMBER 19, 1966
The Common Council of the City of Richmond; Indiana serving as a committee in
charge of the operation of the Richmond Poser -and Light Plant met in regular
session in the Council Chambers in the City Building in said City, Monday,
December -19, 1966 at the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. (est). Councilman Hilligoss
presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. Backmeyer, Bell,
Henn, Hollingsworth, Marino, Paust, Youngflesh and Yount. The following business
was had to-wit:
Councilman Marino moved the minutes of the previous meeting be approved without
being read aloud, seconded by Councilman Backmeyer and on voice vote was carried.
Councilman Henn moved the following claims and transfers be allowed and paid;
seconded by Councilman Hollingsworth and on voice vote was carried:

Bills in the amount of $149,367.02
1 - Payroll 46,409.87
Transfers from Cash -Operating Fund to:
Cash Reserve Fund 67,010.84
Utility Bond Fund 24,420.62
Depreciation Reserve Fund 36,000.00.
Chairman Hilligoss stated that he had an enjoyable year presiding over this
committee and everyone is to be thanked for the fine co-operation extended to
make it a progressive year.
The Clerk presented proof of publication of Notice To Bidders printed in the
' Richmond Palladium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation, on the date of
December 5, 1966. Said notice stated that sealed proposals would be received
on the date of December 19, 1966 until the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. (est)
for furnishing the Richmond Light Plant with Conductor for Spacer Cable in
accordance with documents on file. Mr. Keller'examined the proof of publica-
tion and found the same to be correct and in order.
Councilman Yount moved the proof of publication be received and filed; seconded
by Councilman Marino and on voice vote was carried.
December 19, 1966 at the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. (est) being the date and
time to publicly open and read aloud the proposals received. The following
proposals were opened and read aloud:
Graybar, Indianapolis, Indiana
Richmond Electric Co. , Richmond, Indiana -
General Electric, Indianapolis, Indiana
Westinghouse, Muncie, Indiana
Councilman Marino moved all bids be referred to Mr. Beck for tabulation and
recommendation, seconded by Councilman Yount and on voice vote was carried.
''' Park Superintendent McBride showed the hanger type of flower box that the Board
of Works approvedwith condition that permission is granted by the Light Plant
to use the street light poles. The brackets are made of aluminum-and stainless
steel and very well constructed. After discussion, Councilman Marino moved that
permission be granted to use the light poles on Main Street, as requested,
seconded by Councilman Yount and om voice vote was carried.
Councilman Youngflesh moved the General Manager be authorized to give $5.00
to each employee of the Richmond Power and Light Plant, excluding the City
Officials, as a Christmas present. Councilman Marino seconded this motion and
on voice vote was carried.
The next regular meeting of this body to be held Tuesday, January 3, 1967.
There being no further business on motion dul made, seconded and carried the
meeting adjourned. `j i
