CALABRESE, S. RATHBUN, M. COLLINS, K. O'CONNELL. OTHERS PRESENT: T. L. BURGHARD, ADMINISTRATOR; H. HAMILTON, ENGINEER; S. JANIK, CLERK, J. HARVEY, ATTORNEY; A. PERSONS, PUBLIC WORKS; J. TESTIN, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR, CHRIS MINICK, FINANCE DIRECTOR; L. VAUPEL, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR. At 7:50 the Public Heating was opened. CHRIST LUTHERAN ACADEMY. Director Testin stated that the applicants want to develop approximately 27 acres of agricultural land for a Lutheran High School. The site will include the high school and athletic fields for football, soccer, tennis, baseball, and softball. The subject site is located east of IL. Route 59, north of 127th Street and south of Sterling Estates Subdivision. The applicants propose the Village will waive annexation fees, park and school donations, and library fees. Section B of the annexation agreement allows the applicant to forego certain Village Landscape requirements. The agreement proposes the applicant will bring water and sewer to the northwest comer of the site. The developer proposes to post a bond or letter of credit for road improvements. It is proposed the Village will construct the road improvements and receive payment from the developer after road improvements have been completed. Attomey Tom Carey representing Christ Lutheran Academy spoke regarding the landscape requirements, parking requirements and the waiver of annexation fees. Mr. Richard Block, Principal and Executive Director for the school spoke briefly about the number of students attending the school, landscape plans for the athletic fields, etc. Adjacent land owner Mr. Bob Sohol told the Board that he was in favor of the site plan, and was very excited to see the school in that location. Attorney Tom Carey also stated that owners, Mr. & Mrs. Angelos were also in agreement to the development of the site. R. Smolich moved to close the Public Heating and return to the regular meeting. Seconded by S. Rathbun. Vote by roll call. Rathbun, yes; Smolich, yes; Calabrese, yes; Cherry, yes; Collins, yes; O'Connell, yes. 6 yes, 0 no. Motion carded.
