OCTOBER 17, 1966. The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana serving as a committeeI.iin . charge of the operation of the Richmond Power and Light Plant met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Building in said City, Monday, October 17, 1966 at the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. (est). Councilman Hilligoss presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. Backmeyer, Bell, Henn, Hollingsworth, Marino, Paust, Youngflesh and Yount. The following business was had to wit: Councilman Bell moved the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with by not being read aloud, seconded by Councilman Yount and on voice vote was carried. Councilman Backmeyer moved the following claims be approved and paid, seconded by Councilman Youngflesh and on voice vote was carried. Approve the following: Bills in the amount of $263,661.99 1-Payroll 46,030.40 Transfers from Cash Operating Fund to: Utility Bond Fund 24,670.63 Cash.Reserve Fund 74,228.13 Depreciation Reserve Fund 36,000.00 Chairman Hilligoss announced that a meeting of this body would be held in the' Service Building at the Richmond Power and Light, October 240 1966. Chairman Hilligoss gave the following report of the net income of the Richmond Power and Light Plant: 9 Months to date this year1,429,997.82 9 Months to date last year 1,069,432.50 Net Increase $ 360,545.32 Mr. Beck presented proof of publication of Notice to Bidders, printed in the Richmond Palladium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana on the dates of September 21-28, 1966. Said notice stated that sealed proposals would be received until the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. (est) on the date of October 17, 1966 for furnishing the Johnson Street Generating Plant with WATER SPRAY FIRE PROTECTION FOR RADIAL AND NETWORK TRANSFORMERS as per specifications on file. The proof of publications were examined and found to be correct and in order. Councilman Youngflesh moved the proof of publication of notice be received and filed, seconded by Council- man Marino and on voice vote was carried. October 17th, 1966 at the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. (est) being the date and time to open and read aloud proposals received. The following wereopened and read aloud: Automatic Sprinkler Co., Youngstown, Ohio Viking Automatic Sprinkler Co., Chicago, Illinois Grinnell Co., Indianapolis, Indiana Councilman Youngflesh moved the proposals be referred to Mr. Beck for tab- ulations and recommendation, seconded by Councilman Marino and on voice vote was. carried. Mr. Beck presented the tabulations of the bids received for furnishing NEUTRAL GROUNDING RESISTOR: PRICE DELIVERY WESTINGHOUSE .ELECTRIC SUPPLY $4,433.00 20 weeks MUNCIE, INDIANA RICHMOND ELECTRIC CO. $2,72 0.00 10-12 weeks RICHMOND, INDIANA Mr. Beck stated that the bid of the Richmond Electric met with the specifications and he recommended the bid to be accepted. Councilman Marino moved the bid of the Richmond Electric Co., be accepted, seconded by Councilman Yount and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Beck presented the following tabulation of bids received for furnishing AUTOMATIC CIRCUIT RECLOSERS: PRICE DELIVERY RICHMOND ELECTRIC CO. ' $11,550.00 12 weeks RICHMOND, INDIANA WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC SUPPLY $10,742.00 18 weeks MUNCIE, INDIANA Alt. $10,652.00 Same as above except Relay Controlled LI_NE MATERIAL INDUSTRIES $11,161.50 14--16 weeks MILWAUKEE, i 9ISCONSIN 1 Tank lifting mechanism for standard mounting frame $100.00 Mr. Beck stated that the bid of the Westinghouse was not complete as required. He stated that the Line'Material Industries bid met with specifications and also there are several installations in the present system of this company and the Line Department is familiar with the operation of their product. Mr. Beck recommended the bid of the Line Material Industries be accepted plus the 1 tank lifting mechanism in the amount of $100.00. Councilman Hollingsworth moved the recommendation of Mr. Beck be concurred with, seconded by Councilman Paust and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Beck reported a credit of i9,452.67 from the Indiana-Michigan for maintenance current. Mr. Beck reported that the Engineers who are making a study of the coal storage at the two plants have just about completed their investigation and a peport should soon be ready for Council. c All members of the Council signed a bond that is required for the General Manager which is to be recorded with the Treasurer of Wayne County.
