HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-03-1966 o)3 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF- THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA SERVING AS-A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT PLANT„ OCTOBER 3, 1966 The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power and Light Plant met in regular session in the Council Chambers in said City, Monday, October 3, 1966 at the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. (est). Councilman Hilligoss presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. Back- meyer, Bell, Henn, Hollingsworth, Marino, Paust, Youngflesh and Yount. The following business was had to-wit : - Councilman Yount moved the minutes of the previous meeting 'be approved without being read aloud, seconded by' Councilman Bell 'and on voice. vote was carried. II/ , , Councilman Backmeyerfl roved the following be allowed and paid, seconded by Councilman Youngflesh and on voice vote was carried. Approve the following: Bills in the amount of $88,871.33 Payment of Interest Coupons - 1953 Revenue Bonds 48.75 2 - Payrolls 94,732.32. The General Manager presented proof of publication of Notice To Bidders printed in the Richmond Palladium-Item, a local newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana on the dates of September 9 - 21, 1966. Said notice stated that sealed bids would be received on the date of October 3, 1966 for furnishing Neutral Grounding Resistor for East Substation. Councilman Yount moved the proof of publication be received and filed, seconded by Councilman Bell and on voice vote was carried. - October 3, 1966 being the date to receive, open and read aloud proposals received. The following proposals were opened and read aloud: - Richmond Electric Company, Richmond, Indiana Westing house Electric Supply Company, Muncie, Indiana Councilman Marino moved the proposals be referred to the General Manager for tabulation and recommendation. This motion was seconded by Councilman Youngflesh and on voice vote was carried. III The General Manager presented proof of publication of Notice To Bidders printed in the Richmond Palladium-Item, a local newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana on the dates of September 9-21, 1966. Said notice stated that sealed proposals would be received on the date of October 3, 1966 for furnishing Automatic Circuit Reclosers. Councilman Marino moved the proof of publication be received and . filed, seconded by Councilman Yount and on voice vote was carried. October 3, 1966 being the date to receive, open and read aloud proposals received. The following proposals were opened and read aloud: Line Material Company, Indianapolis, Indiana Richmond Electric Company, Richmond, Indiana Westinghouse Electric Supply Company, Muncie, Indiana Councilman Youngflesh moved the proposals be referred to the General Manager for tabulation and recommendation, seconded by Councilman Bell,and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Beck stated that a petition has been filed by the Morrison Mobile Home Plaza located on National Road West across from the Natco requesting that the Richmond Power and Light service the trailer court. This area is presently being serviced by the Public Service of Indiana. - Mr. Beck reported that considerable saving could be made by placing orders for 105 poles and 160 street lights at the present market price. The poles and lights to be installed on North "E" Street from North 8th to 21th Streets and also on West Main Street. Council- man Yount moved the General Manager be authorized to place the orders for the poles and lights, seconded by Councilman Paust and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Beck requested authorization to negotiate with the R.E.M.C. Rural Electric for purchase of facilities and equipment now serving the Buchholtz Addition that was recently annexed to the City of Richmond, Indiana. 194 R.P. & L. minutes 10/3/66 cont. Page 2. Councilman Hollingsworth moved the General Manager be authorized to negotiate with the R.E.M.C. to purchase facilities and equipment that now serve the Buchholtz Addition. This motion was seconded by Councilman Bell and on voice vote was carried. There being no further business presented, on motion duly made, seconded and carried the meeting adjourned.
