HomeMy Public PortalAbout12-06-1965 s CC) MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COM-ION COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT PLANT. The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power and Light Plant met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall Monday, December 6, 1965 at the hour of 7:00 o'clock plm. (est). Councilman Youngflesh presiding with the following members being present: Mesrs. Backmeyer, Bell, Henn, Hilligoss, Hollings- worth, Marino, Paust and Yount. The following. business was had to-wit: Councilman Hollingsworth moved the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with, seconded by Councilman Backmeyer and on voice vote was unanimously carried. Councilman Paust moved the following claims be allowed and paid, seconded by - Councilman Backmeyer and on voice vote• was unanimously carried. Approved the following Bills •in`the amount of • $82.963.06 Payment of Int. Coupons 1953 Revenue Bonds 81..25 Two Payrolls $87,658.69 Councilman Marino moved that the-General. Manager be authorized to give Five 45.00) Dollars to each employee of the Richmond Power and Light Plant, ex- cluding the City Officials as a Christmas present. This motion was seconded by Councilman Hollingsworth and on voice vote unanimously carried. - Mr. Beck presented proof of publicaton of Notice printed in the Richmond Palladium- Item a.local newspaper. of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana that sealed proposals would be received until the hour of 7:00 p.m. (est) December 6, 1965 for furnishing 69 KV Substation structures and equipment per specifications on file, Mr. Kemper, City !Attorney, examined the proof of publication and found the same to be correct and in. order. Councilman Hollingsworth moved the proofs be received and filed, seconded by Councilman Marino and on voice vote was unanimously carried. The proposals were opened and read aloud: General Electric Supply $18,427.50 Richmond Electric Co.: 20,500.00 Graybar 20,580.00 • Graybar 16,000.00 Westinghouse 20,674.00 Councilman Yount moved that all proposals be referred to the General Manager for tabulations and recommendation. This motion was seconded by Councilman Marino and on voice vote was unanimously carried. Mr. Beck presented proof of publication of notice printed in the Richmond Palladitm- Item a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana that sealed proposals would be received until the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. (est) Monday, December 6, 1965 for furnishing one (1) new 1966 Model Truck with window type van body according to specifications on file. Mr. Kemper, City Attorney, examined the proof of publication and found the same to be correct and in order. Councilman Yount moved the proof of publication be received and filed. This motion was seconded by `'ouncilman Backmeyer and on voice vote was unanimously carried. The following proposals were received, opened and read aloud. Warfield G.M.C. $2,089.00 Fred First Inc. 2,174.00 Kurdys Chevrolet Inc. 1,997.27 Councilman Yount moved all proposals be referred to the General Manager for tabulations and recommendations, seconded by Councilman Marino and on voice vote was unanimously carried. Councilman Henn requested that the inventory of invebtmanttgof the Richmond Power and Light Platt be made of record of this meeting. Council unanimously concurred in the request. aka} R.P. & L. 12/6/65 Inventory of Investments of Depreciation Reserve Fund Total $4,200,608.00 Inventory of Cash Reserve Fund Investments Total $996,967.78 Inventory of Investments of Consumers Fund Total 469,880.88 The average income is 3.9 3/8% for all the above. 11/ Mr. Beck stated that he would like to meet with Council and go over the proposed 1966 Budget of the Richmond Power and Light. It was agreed that all members would meet in the Service Building Monday, December 13, 1965 at the hour of 7:00 p.m. There being no further business presented, on motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried the meeting adjourned.
