MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ASSESSORS

Call to Order: Vice Chair Barker called the meeting to order at 4:36 pm.
Declaration of a Quorum: A quorum was present. All members were participating remotely
and confirmed that they could hear each other.
Meeting Participation Statement: Mr. Gallagher read the following meeting participation
statement: Pursuant to Chapter 107 of the Acts of 2022, this meeting will be conducted in person
and via remote means, in accordance with applicable law. This means that members of the public
body may access this meeting in person, or via virtual means. In person attendance will be at the
meeting location listed above, and it is possible that any or all members of the public body may
attend remotely. No in-person attendance of members of the public will be permitted, and public
participation in any public hearing conducted during this meeting shall be by remote means only.
Mr. Gallagher was monitoring the public comment/question email address and confirmed that no
questions or comments had been received.
Regular Session:
• Report of the Deputy Assessor:
The Tax Rate Classification Hearing was held with the Select Board on Monday,
September 12, 2022. The Select Board voted a single tax rate with a residential factor of
one, no open space discount, no residential exemption, and no small commercial
exemption. The tax rate recap was submitted to and approved by the Department of
Revenue (DOR) on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
The FY2023 tax rate was approved at $6.99/thousand. We are currently working with the
Treasurer/Collectors Office and expect to issue the tax bills on Monday, October 3, 2022.
Motor Vehicle Commitment 5 will be issued September 16th. Demands for Commitment
4 will be issued September 19, 2022. Warrants for last years Boat Excise will be issued
September 16, 2022, and warrants for last years Real Estate and Personal Property bills
will be issued September 20, 2022.

None at this time. We will send out reminders that applications are due October 1St
• Review and approve Regular Session Meeting Minutes —August 30, 2022: No action
at this time.
• Matters Not Reasonably Anticipated by the Chair: None at this time.
• Next Meeting: The next Board of Assessors meetings will be September 21, 2022,
October 12, 2022 and October 26, 2022.

federal grant-in-aid requirements: MGL Chap 59 Sec. 60 and MGL Chap. 214 Sec. 1B):
At 4:42pm Ms. McGinnis moved to enter Executive Session for the reasons noted above, not to
return to regular session. Ms. Barker seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Roll Call vote:
