HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-20-1965 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COH_ON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHIMMOND, INDIANA, SERVING AS A COi'i:IITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT PLANT, SEPTEMBER 20, 1965. The Common Council of theCity of Richmond, Indiana serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power and Light Plant. met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City, Monday, September 20, 1965 at the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. (est). Councilman Youngflesh presiding - with the following members being present: Messrs Backmeyer, Bell, Henn,-Hilligoss, Hollingsworth, Marino, Paust and Yount. Absent.none. The following proceedings were had to-wit: Councilman Yount moved the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with, seconded by Councilman Marino and on voice vote was unanimously carried. Councilman Backmeyer moved the following be allowed and paid, seconded by Council- man Bell and on voice vote was unanimously carried. • APPROVED THE FOLLOWING: Bills in the amount of $141,478.65 Payment of Int. Coupons 1965 Revenue Bonds 15.00 • Transfer from Gash Operating Fund to: Utility Bond Fund 7 P 25,170.63 • Cash Reserve Fund - 74,790.72 Depreciation Reserve Fund 36,000.00 Councilman Henn requested the following be made a record. of this meeting: The total amount of investments of Depreciation Reserve Fund being $4,202,505.50. Withthe exception of Worthless Barrett Law Bonds these investments are covered by receipts from the Second National Bank, Richmond, Indiana. The receipts are in the custody of the Wayne County Treasurer. The total amount of investments of the Cash Reserve Fund being $767,304.42. These investments are covered by receipts from the Second National Bank, Richmond, Indiana. These receipts are in custody of the Wayne County Treasurer. The total amount of investments of the Consumer's Deposit Fund being $69,889.38. These investments are covered by receipts from the Second National Bank, Richmond, Indiana. These receipts are in the custody of the Wayne County Treasurer. Mr. Beck reported that he had been advised by Mr. Porter that there is now available in the Cash Reserve Fund the sum of $130,000.00 for investment in . U.S.Treasury Notes, maturing August 1966.. This investment has met approval of the Finance Committee. Councilman Marino moved the-General Manager be authorized to make investment of the'sum of 130,000.-00 from the:Cash Reserve Fund into U.S.Treasury Notes, mat- uring August1966. This motion was seconded by CouncilmanYount and on voice vote was unanimously carried. Mr. Beck presented proof of publication of Notice To Bidders, printed in the . Richmond Palladium-Item, a local newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana on the date of September 13, 1965 that sealed proposals would be received until the hour bf 7:00 p.m. September 20, 1965 for One (1) Ladder and Utility Body with 26 foot ladder for use by the R.P.& L. Mr. Kemper ex- amined the proof of•publication and found the same to be correct and in order. Councilman Marino moved the proof of publication be received and filed, seconded by Councilman Hilligoss and on voice vote was unanimously carried. September 20th, 1965 at the hour of 7:00 p.m. (est) being the date and time designated to open proposals received. The following were received, opened and read aloud: Delphi Body Works :, 5,167.50 Morris Equipment $5,432.50 c Councilman Marino moved the bids received be referred to Mr. Beck for tabulation and recommendation. This motion was seconded by Councilman Bell and on voice vote was carried. Mr. Beck presented proof of publication of Ntoice To Bidders printed in the Richmond Palladium-Item a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana on the date of •September 13, 1965 that sealed proposals would be received until the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. (est) for furnishing one (1) new 1965 or 1966 Model, 6 cylinder, standard cab truck, one ton chassis for use by the Richmond Power and Light. Nr. Kemper examined the proof of publication and found the same to be III correct and in order. • Councilman Yount moved the proof of publication be received and filed, seconded by Councilman Marino and on voice vote was unanimously carried. - September 20, 1965 at the -hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. being the time and dates de- signated to open the proposals received. The following was opened and read aloud: Fred First Inc. one 1966 Ford Truck • -+2,112.19 • Trade in allowance on 1961 Truck 550.00 Net Price 01,562.19 Councilman Yount moved this proposal be referred to Mr. Beck for tabulation and recommendation. This motion was seconded by Councilman Backmeyer -and on voice vote was unanimously carried. Mr. Kemper read the following in full: RESOLUTION Resolved, That A.E.Beck by on behalf of Richmond Power and Light is hereby authorized to execute Exhibit "A", Agreement and Deed of Easement and Right-of- way: Exhibit "B", Release of Easement, •involving the operation of certain - electrical lines across lands now owned by the Richmond Water Works Corporation. Councilman Yount moved the adoption of the Resolution, seconded by Councilman Bell and on voice vote the motion was unanimously carried. The Clerk was authorized to return the proposition submitted by Mr. Richard Terwilliger to purchase a tract of land located across from the R.P.& L. It is requested that Mr. Terwilliger give a better description of the land to be purchased. Mr. Beck stated he would miss the meeting of October 4th as he will be on vacation. • T4ere being no further business presented, on motion duly made, seconded and carried the meeting adjourned. , 0-4,J2,, r .
