CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN
CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT.
The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana serving as a committee in charge
of the operation of the Richmond Power and Light met in regular session in the Council
Chambers in the City Hall in said City Monday, April 5, 1965 at the hour of 7:00
o'clock p.m. (est). Councilman Youngflesh presiding with the following members being
present: Messrs. Backmeyer, Bell, Henn, Hilligoss, Hollingsworth, Marino, Paust and
Yount. The following business was had to-wit:
Councilman Marino moved the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with, seconded
by Councilman Backmeyer and on voice vote was carried.
Councilman Bell moved the following claims be allowed and paid, seconded by Council-
man Paust and on voice vote was carried.
Approved the following:
Bills in the amount of: $124,952.28
2 Payrolls 82,055.57
Payment of Int.° Coupons 1953
Revenue Bonds 300.00
Approved March 15, 1965
Purchased U.S.Treasury Bills from Cash
Reserve Fund (matured value $150,000.00) $145,823.75
Councilman Marino moved the Buildings and Grounds Committee be authorized to retain
a Real Estate agent to make investigation of proposed sites in the City that would
be suitable for a new Light Plant Office in the down-town area. Councilman Paust
seconded this motion and on voice vote was carried.
Mr. Beck presented the following tabulation of bids received March 15, 1965 for a car
for the Engineering Department.

Mr. Beck recommended the bid of the Fred First, Inc. in the sum of $1,753.95.
Councilman Yount moved that this body concur in the recommendation of Mr. Beck,
seconded by Councilman Hollingsworth and on voice vote was carried.
Mr. Beck reported after thorough study of the Distribution System that there is a
need of increasing the capacity in various areas. Mr. Beck requested permission to
receive bids on the 3rd day of May, 1965 for (4) new 2500 K.V.A. transformers.
Councilman Yount moved that Mr. Beck be authorized to receive bids for the trans-
formers as requested, seconded by Councilman Marino and on voice vote was carried.
There being no further business presented, on motion duly made, seconded and carried
the meeting adjourned. Va,11,24
