Mr. Beck reported that the Interconnection Transformer would have to be repaired.
Thd company that made this type of transformer has advised all purchasers that
this type of transformer should have a new winding to take electrical surges that
are created by lightning. This piece of equipment would have to be out of ser-
vice for a .period of 6 to 8 weeks. Plans are being made to take immediate action
to make the repairs.
•
Mr. Beck outlined the communication that was used during the recent telephone •
outages due to the fire at the Telephone office. He also urged all Councilmen'
who could take time off to attend a Civil Defense Program to. be held in Conners-
ville February 18, 1965. Several Councilmen expressed that they would attend.
Councilman Hilligoss questioned the policy of the storage of coal at the Johnson
Street Station. He thought the ratio of storage of coal at Johnson Street Station
to the Nhitewater Valley Station was out of line with the generation. Mr. Beck
stated that in his opinion the 90 day supply was in line with other•-utilities,
but if a cut-back of the storage supply was requested it would have to come from
this body. Chairman Pro-tern Yount appointed Councilmen Henn, Hilligoss and
Marino to make study. of.coal storage and bring their recommendation to the
committee. •
There being no further business presented, on motion duly made, seconded and
• carried, the :meeting adjourned.
