HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-17-1964 100 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL SERVING AS A COM' 4ITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POKER AND LIGHT PLANT. The Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, serving as a committee in charge of the operation of the Richmond Power and Light Plant, met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City, Monday, August 17, 1964 at the hour of 7:00 o'clock p.m. Councilman Yount presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. Bacleyer, Bell , Hilligoss, Marino, Youngflesh and Henn. Councilmen Hollingsworth and Paust being absent. The following business was had, to-wit: Councilman Henn moved the following correction be made to the minutes of August 3rd, 1964. The paragraph which read: Mr. Beck stated the Rose CityIII Ford was not properly signed by a member of the Company could not legally be accepted. It should read that the bid was not properly signed and could not be accepted. Councilman Hilligoss seconded this motion and on voice vote was carried. Councilman Marino moved the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with as corrected. This motion was seconded by Councilman Backmeyer and on voice vote was carried, Councilman Marino moved the bills be approved, seconded by Councilman Young- flesh and on voice vote was carried. Approved following: Bills in the amount of $95,606.64 Payment of Interest Coupons 1953 Revenue Bonds $ 1,818.75 Transfers from Cash Operating Fund to: Utility Bond Fund $25,741.05 Cash Reserve Fund $53,289.04 Depreciation Reserve Fund $36,000.00 Councilman Marino stated that he was very much opposed to the Mayor setting dates for Open House at the Light Plants without consulting this body. After much discussion this doby went on record as approving the Open House dates of September 26th & 27th. III Mr. Beck presented the following tabulations of bids for the 25,000 KW Trans- former which were opened August 3, 1964 Westinghouse Electric Corp. 071,009.00 General Electric Company $71,581.00 *Pennsylvania Transformer Company $83,540.00 * Received in the mail 9:15 a.m. August 4, 1964 at City Building. Mr. Beck recommended the bid of the Westinghouse Electric Corp. in the above amount. Councilman Marino moved this body concur in the recommendation of Mr. Beck. This motion was seconded by Councilman Youngflesh and on voice vote was carried. Councilman Marino moved the Annual Recreational Budget for the Richmond Power and Light Plant in the amount of $350.00 for the period of Sept. 1, 1964 to :August 31, 1965 be approved. This motion was seconded by Councilman Youngflesh, and on voice vote was carried; Mr. Beck presented the following bids received for wrecking and removal of the Old Utility Building at Johnsoh Street Station: III Mike DeLucio and Son 0 2,050.00 Cox Excavating $ 5,100.00 Mr. Beck recommended the bid of Mike DeLucio and Son be accepted. Councilman Henn moved that this body concur in the recommendation of Mr. Beck. This motion was seconded by Councilman Marino and on voice vote gas carried.
