Minutes of Public Hearing
Thursday, May 5, 2022 (Emergency Meeting in place of May 2, 2022 Meeting)
The Brewster Old King's Highway Regional Historic District Committee, acting under the Massachusetts General
Laws, Chapter 470, Acts of 1973 as amended, came to order at 7:00 pm virtually being recorded at the Brewster
Town Hall. Committee members present were Jim Trabulsie (Chairperson), Steven Bergquist, Patricia Bausch
and George Carey, Tom Turcketta and Carol Appleton were absent.

Portico
• There was a question regarding the abutter letters therefore the application was continued while the
question was being resolved
• Chairperson Jim Trabulsie stated that the application should be denied due to incomplete application
pending a request for continuance is not filed within a seven-day period. Should the applicant complete
the request for continuance as well as the missing documentation for the application, said application
will be heard at the next meeting.
• Steven Bergquist moved to deny the application pending a continuance. Patricia Busch seconded the
motion
• All voted to approve the denial if the stated conditions were not met

Exterior Renovation
• Renato Silva, Excel Building, represented the homeowner at the meeting
• Mr Silva confirmed the work will be taking place on the rear of the home that is not visible from the
roadway
• Mr Trabulsie asked if the windows being replaced will have a stud pocket in between. Mr Silva stated it
will be four windows in the rear with casings and sills to match the existing windows. There will be two
windows on each side as well.
• Mr Bergquist asked for clarification if the windows will have grills as shown in the plans
• George Carey wanted to confirm the location of the proposed changes based on the submitted plans
• 6 windows and 2 sliders are being replaced with 8 windows
• Steven Bergquist moved to approve the application as amended. Patricia Busch seconded the motion
• All voted to approve as amended

• Both Ms Bauch and Mr Bergquist felt that the plans submitted to the committee were missing critical
details such as the elevations and that the plans submitted were of poor quality
• Chairperson Jim Trabulsie stated that the application should be denied due to incomplete application
pending a request for continuance is not filed within a seven-day period. Should the applicant complete
the request for continuance as well as the missing documentation for the application, said application
will be heard at the next meeting.
• Steven Bergquist moved to deny the application pending a continuance. Patricia Busch seconded the
motion

• Ms Marcello confirmed the panels will be black on black frame and all panels will be located on the rear
on the home
• 24 panels will be placed on the home
• Patricia Busch moved to approve as presented, Steven Bergquist seconded the motion
• All voted to approve as presented

the minutes as presented.
