HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-18-1963 77 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE RICHMOND COMMON COUNCIL SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT NOVEMBER 18, 1963 Regular session was called to order at 7 :00 PM by Chairman Marino in the Council Chambers in City Hall - All Members present - The following was had to wit : IICouncilman Johnson moved that the reading of the minutes of the previots meeting be dispensed with, seconded by Councilman Yount , unanimous voice vote. . Councilman Yount moved to allow and pay bills in the amount of : $95,918.80, , seconded by Councilwoman C. L. Hoskins , unanimous voice vote. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPROVED THE FOLLOWING TRANSFER FROM CASH OPERATING FUND TO: Depreciation Reserve Fund $36,000.00 Utility Bond Fund • , 26,24104 Cash Reserve Fund 33,889.06 General Manager Beck presented proof of publication that this date had been set to open sealed bids for a 1964 Automobile for the use of the RP&L, Councilwoman C. L. Hoskins moved that the proofs be accepted and filed, seconded by Councilman Youngflesh, unanimous voice vote. The Following bids were received and opened : (bids recordedate for net price & trade- in of 1955 DeSoto) Gray Lincoln-Mercury .- Comet $2,229.00 Raper Plymouth - Fury 2 ,245.92 Kurdys Chev. -Impala 22 ,316.44 Bowens Olds. . -F-85 2 ,226.52 Vivian Buick -Special 2 , 100.00 . Councilman Youngflesh moved that the bids be referred to General Manager Beck for Tabulation and recommendation, seconded by Councilman Yount, un- animous voice vote. General Manager Beck submitted the Richmond Power & Light proposed budget of $3,324.600 for Operation and $627 ,000 for Construction for 1964. Chairman Marino set Monday 7 :00 PM, November 25, 1963 for a meeting of the Light Plant Committee at the Service Building to study the budget. Councilman Yount moved to adopt a resolution that the Richmond Power and Light abandon a certain easement granted by Floyd and Josephine Howard, hteir property fronting on the Round Barn Road , and which the Richmond Power and Light has no present or future need for the easement , seconded by Councilman Youngflesh, unanimous voice vote.
