Home My Public Portal About08-05-1963 70 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE RICHMOND COMMON COUNCIL SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT AUGUST 5, 1963 Regular session was called to order at 7:00 PM by Chairman Marino, in the Council Chambers in City Hall. All members were present. The following business was had to wit: • Councilman Yount moved that the reading of the mimutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with, seconded by Councilman Lawler, unanimous voice vote. Councilman Johnson moved to allow and pay bills in the amount of: $324,874.00 and purchase US Treasury bills from Cash Reserve Fund 98,622.22 Interest on 1953 Revenue Bonds 11,475.00 General Manager Beck presented proof of publication that this date had been set to opennsealed bids for Street Lighting Materials, Councilwoman C. L. Hoskins moved that the proof be accepted, and filed., seconded by Councilman Johnson, unanimous voice vote. The following bids were opened: TOTAL BID RICHMOND ELECTRIC $55,150.00 WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC 56,442.00 R&R ELECTRIC SUPPLY - - , . 57,681,50 UNIVERSAL ELECTRIC 58,536.330 LINE MATERIAL 54,295.95 - No bid on Item 6 - Frop Cable GRAYBAR ELECTRIC 55,955.10 - 8" x 42" Shaft - No Anchor Bolts & " 57,705.10 - 8" x 6" " Top Pin Caps included in Graybar bid • Councilman Johnson moved. that the bids be referred to General Manager Beck for tabulationaand recommendation, seconded By Councilman C. L. Hoskins, unanimous voice vote. Councilman J. Hoskins moved that the Board of Directors 'authorize Mr. Beck to replace the billing machine with a Burrought as per their quotation of $6500.00 and trade-in of old machine, seconded by Councilman Lawler, unanimous voice vote. • Councilman Yount moved.that the Cooperative Advertising Plan with the Kingston Green Apartments be tabled for the time being, seconded by Councilman Youngflesh, unanimous voice vote.
