HomeMy Public PortalAbout06-17-1963 67 MINJTES OF THE MEETING OF THE RICHMOND COMMON COUNCIL SERVING AS_A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT JUNE 17. 1963 Regular session was called to order 7 :00. PM by Chairman Marino in the IICouncil Chambers in City Hall: Councilmen Henh and Johnson were absent - the following business was had to wit: Councilwoman C. L. Hoskins moved that the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with, seconded by Councilman Corsi, unani- mous voice vote. , Councilman Yount moved to allow and pay the bills in, the amount of: $110,447.10 Plus Interest on 1953 Revenue Bonds 225.00 motion seconded by Councilman Lawler, unanimous voice vote. THE BOARD OF. DIRECTORS APPROVED TRANSFERS FROM CASH OPERATING FUND TO: Depreciation Reserve Fund 36,000.00 Cash Reserve Fund 38,710.38 Utility Bond Fund 26,241.04 The Board approved transfer from Consumers Deposit- Interest to: Depreciation Reserve Fund 4,570.51 IICouncilman Yount moved to authorize the Richmond Power and Light to participate in the annual July 4th fireworks celebration sponsored by the local American Legion Post #65 for the 18th consecutive year, seconded by Councilman Corsi, unanimous voice vote. General Manager Beck reported that he would take one week of vacation ' tithe the first week of July. The Board of Directors approved a recommendation by General Manager Beck to purchase an acre of ground owned by the Wayne Works at a cost of $1250.00 to be used as a sub-station, the land is located at the Southwest corner of the intersection of the Gravel Pit Road the the Pennsylvania. Railroad right-ospway. City Attorney Cecere was instructed to proceed with the details concerning the purchase. On the recommendation of General =.Manager Beck Councilman C. L. Hoskins moved to reject aldr. bids that have been submitted to the Richmond Power and Light for Street Lighting Materials until a study of specifications cam be made, seconded by Councilman Lawler, unaninpjous voice vote. This recommendation was made in conjunction with the study being made of the 15 Light poles damaged by falling trees during the wind storm IIMonday June 10, 1963. Bids will be re-advertised for at a later date. There being no further business the meeting adjourned. Chairman Attest : Clerk
