HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-01-1963 62 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE RICHMOND COMMON COUNCIL SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT APRIL 1 , 1963 Regular session was called to order by Chairman Marino at 7 :00 PM in the Council Chambers in City Hall . All members were present. The following business was had to wit : Councilman Johnson moved that the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with, seconded by Councilman Yount , unanimous voice vote. Councilman Yount moved that the bills in the amount of $84,328 .48 Two Payrolls 77,467,76 • Interest on 1953 Revenue Bonds 825.00 be allowed and paid, seconded by Councilwoman C. L. iioskins, unanimous voice vote. Chairman Marino read a proposal submitted by C. A. Kleinknecht , president of the Richmond Electtic Company to supply repair parts, as luminaries , poles, and lamps for the same price as bid in 1962 and to be delivered to the RP&L as needed. Councilman Hohnson moved that the proposal be referred 'to General Manager Beck for study and recommendation, seconded by Councilwoman C. L. Hoskins , unanimous voice vote. General Manager Beck reported that the system demand for the first 3 months showed an increase of 5.9% over the first quarter of 1962 . 3eneral Manager Beck explained a proposal by builders of apartment housess on the Chester Pike, concerning the contribution that would be given for the use of electricity for appliances in the apartments. A meeting will be held to study the proposal. • Councilman Henn, on behalf of the members of Council, commended the RP&L for their hospitality at the "Open House" for City Officials and Employees , March 25, 1963. Councilman Yount moved that the meeting be adjourned as there was no further business , seconded by Councilman Lawler, unanimous voice vote. Chairman Attest : Clerk
