HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-18-1963 59 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE RICHMOND COMMON COUNCIL SERVING AS A COMMITTEE IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT FEBRUARY 18 1963 II Regular session was called to order by Chairman Marino at 7 :00 PM, in the Council Chambers in City Hall; all members were present - The following business was had to wit : Councilman Johnson moved that the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting be dispensed with, seconded by Councilman J. Hoskins, unanimous voice vote. Councilman Corsi moved that the bills in the amount of $127,720.48 Interest on 1953 Revenue Bonds 4,066.25 be allowed and paid, seconded by Councilman Johnson, unanimous voice vote. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPROVED THE FOLLOWING TRANSFERS FROM CASH OPERATING FUND TO: Depreciation Reserve Fund 36,000.00 Utility Bond Fund . 26,455.04 Cash Reserve Fund 58,895.84 Councilman Corsi moved that the Board of Directors authorize the Richmond II Power and Light to invest $150,000.00 in U.S. Treasury Bonds, sed°onded by Councilman Henn, unanimous voice vote. Councilman J. Hoskins moved that the Board approve the recommendation of General Manager Beck to accept the low bid of Kurdys Chevrolet for a new 1963 Coivair 500 2 Door Sedan, for the use of the meter department - Total cost $1596.69 - Trade in 1954 Chev. 2 Door, seconded by Councilman Youa}t, unanimous voice vote. Councilman Johnson moved that the Board approve the recommendation of General Manager Beck to accept the low bid of Kurdys Chevrolet for the purchase of a new 1963 Chevy 2 - 100 4 Door Sedan - Total cost $1629.51 - Trgde in 1956 Plymouth, seconded by Councilman Lawler, unanimous voice vote. General Manager Beck reported the following quotations for a sign for the new service building: Richmond Sign Co. $2335.00 Richmond, Ind . Wayne Sigh Co. 1328.00 . " " Boxell Sign Co. 2447.00 Muncie " Councilman Yount moved to authorize General Manager Beck to accept II the low bid of Wayne Sign Co. , seconded b Councilwoman C. Hoskins. Councilman Henn asked that the bids be held over for more study. Councilman Yount withdrew his motion, Councilwoman C. Hoskins with- drew her second, Chairmen Marino tabled the quotations for further study. Councilman J. Hoskins moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Councilman Corsi, unanimous voice vote.
