MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE RICHMOND
COMMON COUNCIL SERVING AS A COMMITTEE
IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE RICHMOND
POWER AND LIGHT .
OCTOBER 1, 1962
Regular session was called to order by Chairman Marino at 7:00 PM',
in the Council Chambers in City Hall; All members present. The follow-
ing business was had to wit :
Councilman Johnson moved that the reading; of the minutes of the pre-
vious meeting be dispensed with, seconded by Councilwoman C. Hoskins,
unanimous voice vote.
Councilman Yount moved that the billd in the amount of : - $84,379.78
Two Payrolls * 76,927.31
be allowed and paid, seconded by councilman Johnson, unanimous voice
vote. '
General Manager Beck reported that all rates submitted recently 'to the
Public Service Commission of Indiana, for revision has been approved.
Mr. Beck reported that the comstruction of the new service building
was progressing on schedule, and expect to move in approximately Jan-
uary 1, 1963.
General Manager Beck reported the following changes in Personnel,
offedtitae October 1, 1962:
Mr. Joe Taylor will become Commercial Manager. In addition to the
duties of Public Relations Director, Mr. Taylor will administer the per-
sonnel in the Home Service Department, Electric Heating, Commercial
and Industrial Lighting, Street Lighting and Industrial Power Sales.
Mr. Rae Sommers, Asst . Plant Superintendent , in addition to the
responsitfiity for the operation of the Whitewater Valley Station will
also Have charge of thecperation of the Johnson Street Station.
Mr. Harold Earns will transfer to Johnson Street Station to serve
as Plant Supervisor and Assistant to Rae Somers .
Mr. Robert Rees will transfer from the Engineering Department
to the Commercial Department to promote Commercial and Industrial Light-
ing and design Street Lighting installations.
There veing no further business, Councilman Yount moved that the meet-
ing be adjourned, seconded by Councilman Smithmeyer, unanimous voice
vote.
