MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE
COMMON COUNCIL SERVING AS A COMMITTEE
IN CHARGE OF THE OPERATION OF THE
RICHMOND PG,TER AND LIGHT.
December 18, 1961
Regular session was called to order by Chairman Marino at 7:00 P.M. in
the Council Chambers in City Hall; Councilman Smithmeyer was absent.
The Following business was had, to-wit:
Councilman Johnson moved that the reading of the minutes of the previous
meeting be dispensed with, seconded by Councilman J. Hoskins, unanimous
voice vote.
Councilman Johnson moved that the bills in the amount of $73,903.39 be
allowed and paid, seconded by Councilman Henn, unanimous voice vote.
The Board of Directors approved the following transactions:
Transfer from Cash Operating Fund to:
Utility Bond Fund $27,078.33
Depreciation Reserve Fund 36,000.00
Cash Reserve Fund 61,378.52
General Manager Beck reported that the light plant generation for November,
1961, was an increase over November, 1960.
Councilman Yount moved to authorize General Manager Beck to invest $100,000.00
in U.S. Treasury Bonds, seconded by Councilwoman C. Hoskins, unanimous
voice vote.
General Manager Beck reported that he has turned over additional data
to the Public Service Company of Indiana, concerning the purchase of
customers from them, for study and anticipates a revised proposal early
in January.
General Manager Beck turned over to City Attorney Cecere a list of
purchases compiled by the light plant for use in the anti-trust suit
filed by the City, in conjunction with a Task Force project' to collect
damages for bid-rigging.
General Manager Beck urged the Councilmen and the public to observe the
lights south of 15th & Main Street, and if approved a program of further
replacements would be started.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
