A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF' THE -CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ISSUE A REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FROM
QUALIFIED FIRMS TO CONDUCT AN AUDIT OF ALL MOTELS IN THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD
WHEREAS, according to City records there are twenty -two (22) motels in the
City of Lynwood; and
WHEREAS, various quality of life issues continue to plague the City relative to
possible violations of the Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 3 of the Lynwood Municipal Code allows for the inspection
of registration records and daily summary sheet which in accordance with the Municipal
Code should be available for inspection at all times by the City .and /or law enforcement;
and
WHEREAS, audits will include the inspection of all registration information, daily
summary sheets, registration retention records, and posting of identification of the
operator of the business.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council authorizes staff to issue a Request for
Qualifications to receive statements of qualifications from qualified firms to conduct an
audit of citywide motels.
Section 2. ' That the City Clerk shall certify as to the adoptions of this
Resolution.
Section 3. This Resolution becomes effective immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 4t" day of November, 2014.
